Are kids a product of their enviornment - or are some just born bad (GRAPHIC)

This is really disturbing and upsetting. Its also pretty graphhic. It reminds me of the Jamie Boldger murders years ago - but sadly we seem to have become used to seeing shit like this in the papers.

Looking at where and how the kids were raised - do you think they would have done this with better parenting / upbringing?

Some kids I have know have had great parents but they were 'BAD' to the bone, others are a product of a bad up bringing, but can be sorted put into a the right environment..

If they had access to porn and violent films then they had something else to do. It's the parents fault for not making sure they know right from wrong. I had access to porn and violent films not long after that age, as I would assume most kids do - whether or not their parents are aware of it - however no-one I know turned into a brutal people basher (well not yet anyway). Looking at that town it's a bit of a shit hole, I'd say that has got more to do with it than the fact that they had access to porn and violent films

    I don't know.
One of our kids isn't that great...not as bad as those two little shits, but has caused a fair bit of trouble.
He had the same upbringing as the other 5 who are all fabulous young people...
Some of it has to be down to personality...it can't all be upbringing, otherwise you wouldn't get decent people from terrible, dysfunctional homes either

I think whats lacking in some kids is the ability to succeed or have hope in making something of themselves. For some a poor homelife will be the catylyst to succeed, in others it will be the ''same ole, same ole' and will follow the poor examples around them. Peer pressure is a lot to do with it.

I've been following this on the BBC website for a couple of days now.

There are conflicting reports about the mother, one has her lacing the kids food with canabis and encouraging the kids to ignore any rules imposed by the father (who left in Decmeber). The other potrays her as a woman unable to cope who begged social services to take her kids away.

One way or another this is nuture rather than nature - a very unacaring enviroment created these monsters - very similar to the Jamie Boldger case.

A thing that is not mentioned in that article is that the boys where supposed to be at the police station for an interview at the very time they were carrying the attack out - they just didn't bother turning up. They had punched and stomped on the head, for 20 minutes, of another 11 year one week before - that attack only stopped as a passing adult intervened.

IMHO some peope just turn out bad. Sometimes people try to rationalise these things by picking a cause that sits well with them... environment, parenting, peer pressure etc... If they don't understand the concept of death, then it could be as simple as stupid young kids doing something really bad without understanding the consequences... reading that made my stomach turn...

Funny aint it, One branch of my family are all into charity work and fostering kids, They fit the mold of good honest Christians, Don't have a bad bone in the lot of them (freaks) but one of the brothers was a complete maggot, Bred an entire clan of criminal scumbags that would go toe to toe with any gang in NZ, They have spent their entire lives robbing and bashing everyone around them, There name is notorious right through the community and probably known to every Judge in NZ,certainly to every cop that has passed through the region.Yet the head of that branch comes from the exact same genes and upbringing as the rest.

Put them down, followed closely by the mother.

They probably had a bad up-bringing, but I would'nt imagine they'll change much. "Rehabilitation" is a lefties pipe dream. It's not real, and society does'nt need anymore filth like this.

They acted on their own impulse, they still knew it was wrong, and they don't seem at all regretfull. Disgusting people.

Well, I've had access to violent videos and porn... I'm also a sadist. I just make sure I don't get caught.

Nah, that's well and truly fucked up. Don't get me wrong, kids can be the meanest little beasts one can imagine, but this is just taking that to extremes.
And I'm pretty sure there's bound to be plenty of people here who reckon it's just because they weren't beaten enough though.
