Dumb std acrobat won't let me extract the one page wiring diagram. Either way you obviously have a major fault if there is no power getting through to the dash. Got to be pretty easy to find.
Check if you are getting power to the ignition switch & if it is comnig out as a starting point. Measure every fuse, heck I can't remember if there is a separate main fuse. Strip the tank etc off, pig of a job but you would just be paying someone else to do it. The spare wire could be fuel sender or anything. I might remember a 'spare', but too long ago. It won't be it.
