Looks like it'll be a great night for a ride.
Looks like it'll be a great night for a ride.
will ya bike still start bro?
Might actually make it out tonight??
Cya all at the BP probably closer to 7pm
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!
'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '
What agreat little ride. The carpark was fun and informative too , many thanks Sis.Will be back, see even us old dogs can learn new tricks.
Every day above ground is a good day!:
Great to see some familiar faces and some new.
It's nice that we could start our ride while it's still light tonight.
I reckon that come mid-summer we'll have quite a posse at SASS.
A POSSE
Just had a flashback to Bonanza and Hoss. Yeah, OK you wont know what I am talking about but it's the same as riding horses. You gotta practise, practise, practise.
Caseye - that's why I keep turning up. Gotta keep my skill level higher than the other road users.
I have noticed that the skills drop off if I miss one SASS.
And you know that saying - USE IT OR LOOSE IT![]()
Hey guys, good night on Wednesday eh? Small group but plenty of learning was to be had. We went on a great ride through the Hunua gorge, up Jones Road then followed Creightons Road back to Clevedon where we proceeded to traverse Twilight Road. What was extra choice about the ride was that it was still light at around 7:30pm when we were cresting Jones Road and you could see a mint sunset over most of Auckland and the Waitemata harbour.
Big thanks to AWS and Sis who let me try their bikes out, I'm still buzzing over the powerband of the CBR600 and the DL650 had power at any RPM.
Andrew, I tried the clutchless shifting method you mentioned and it works mint-as.
Cheers all
So how did today go?
Full license now, I presume.
And what sort of bike are you looking for?
Hi Sis,
yep, fully licensed and operational now. I've posted a dissertation of my next steps here
http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...-search-begins
So yeah, any decent Jap 600cc+ or a sv1000s. Let me know if you've got anything stashed away, begging to be sold![]()
Add the Sv650 to your list same as the Sv1000 and a better step up from the 250. At least you will be able to push the Sv650 and experience its limits the Sv1000 is a handful when you really give it the berries! Better step I reckon, but I'm couscous, especially with other peoples lives LOL!!!
Just my 2c
