For those who don't know Ulysses, we have a runs list that is about 6 months out. At the beginning it is stated to turn up early with an empty bladder and a full tank. You would be amazed how many of them will suddenly pull off for petrol or a potty stop at the very beginning of the ride. Hence Theontidote's comments. He will have witnessed that a few times too.

I should also mention here that 10.30 is the leaving time.

So empty bladder and full tank.

We also have a ride briefing before we jump on our bikes.

I think the Waikato group will be at Autobahn about 9.30. I am planning on lots of chatting and a coffee before the ride.

You are most welcome. Come along and mix with a totally different bunch of riders.

We will leave Bombay at 10.30 15th June.

Lou and I are doing a reccy on Sat. Yep, Maakz that is Lou, the one who chatted to you. (she is irresistible or was it Mellow Yellow?)
Sorry, I have Daddy duties this weekend. Have fun.

Essential info for the newbies to SASS:
South Auckland Street Skills or SASS

WHAT: Learning and improving Riding Skills
    WHEN: Tuesday Nights
WHERE: Meet at Z (ex-Shell) Service Station, Cnr Great South Road and Taka St, TAKANINI (the one with a Burger King)
WHO: Riders new and old, and anyone getting back into Motorcycling (must be legal & hold a motorcycle license).
Weather and venue permitting - Heavy Rain may mean that we are watching DVDs. Showers are OK, look on the thread for more up-to-date information.
Depending on the number of riders and their experience levels, a short ride may be included to practice further skills. If there are enough riders, some nights can be split into two different groups.

    Some nights may include:
Practicing essential skills and techniques in a quiet carpark
On-the-road practice which may see you doing up to a 1hr - 1 1/2hr ride.

    WHY:
    - Practice essential skills for staying alive on the road.
    - Practical help with your riding.
    - Fun times with fellow riders, with great stories and discussions.
    - Build friendships, solicit advice and pick-up riding tips.

MEET at Z station Takanini -----------> before 6.55pm

    START ride -----------------------------> 7pm

FINISH ride at ex-Manukau City Council car park for slow-speed safety exercises -----> usually 8pm-8.15pm
(next to the new Manukau train station & opp. police station)

SOCIAL time @ BRONCOS after car park exercises -----------> 8.45pm-ish

Cost: Nil, nada, zip, zero, nothing... Just your time and attention.

Details of what will be happening each week will be posted on this thread. So kick the tires and light the fires... Let's ride, aSASSins!

    Disclaimer:
The SASS activity is intended to give any riders advice on their riding and to practice their skills in a safe and relaxed environment. The organisers of SASS are NOT responsible for any rider, their machines and/or any persons involved. All people attending SASS do so at their own risk.

Won't be there tomorrow, prob not the next week either. Bit skeptical of riding the bike at the moment ever since I had problems starting it last week so only riding it to work and back and no more.

Getting it serviced next Wednesday so should hopefully be all gravy after that.

As long as it's fine I will be there. We have surgery late next week so these will be my last couple for a while.

I have been out on my motorbike on Sunday. Twice I rode Twilight Road. And twice as I came over the top of the twisties, I had a bike with its wheels just on their side of the road but with theirs bodies and heads on my side. I guess they have no wish to live long. If you or your loved ones ride, please gently remind them how to live longer. It might not be me but a truck next time. Take care.

I had posted the above on Facebook.
Very ironic when, at SASS, we encourage how important it is to keep your head on your side of the road, yet twice in one day I encounter riders who are risking their lives.

People quickly forget: the biggest difference between the road and the racetrack is at a racetrack there is a reasonable probability there is nothing coming the other way.
Delusions of being as good as Rossi.
