    Look outside! get it fixed.
I agree. I doubt it is the starter. More likely a grubby earth.

Love to join up on this some time, job permitting really for me. I have such a tough job working 4pm-7pm Mon-Thur . But will have to take off from work occasionally to make it out on a Thursday.

    Hi
Make sure you get the day correct. We meet on a Tuesday.

    ART track day.

I cant recommend them enough. If you have any trouble with turns join in. You will learn more in a day than years of riding on the road. Doesnt matter what bike you are on.

Trying to get things sorted so I can come this weekend. Front tyre is nearing the end of its life so don't want to pay and then turn up on the day and fail scrutineering, combined with waiting on a new chain to arrive from the US I think I may be pushing it to make it this Sunday

As long as it's not bigger than 1000 - wasn't it?

Tried higher rpm on the way home mid corner, bike feels a bit more stable about it. Headlights are crap, full beam is as piss weak as low, just more spread. Tinkerings to do this weekend i think
Peter (on the GSX650) had this same problem. Might pay to chat to him about it also. But yea, especially on a bike like that you should be working it thru the rev range.

Essential info for the newbies to SASS:
South Auckland Street Skills or SASS

WHAT: Learning and improving Riding Skills
    WHEN: Tuesday Nights
WHERE: Meet at Z (ex-Shell) Service Station, Cnr Great South Road and Taka St, TAKANINI (the one with a Burger King)
WHO: Riders new and old, and anyone getting back into Motorcycling (must be legal & hold a motorcycle license).
Weather and venue permitting - Heavy Rain may mean that we are watching DVDs. Showers are OK, look on the thread for more up-to-date information.
Depending on the number of riders and their experience levels, a short ride may be included to practice further skills. If there are enough riders, some nights can be split into two different groups.

    Some nights may include:
Practicing essential skills and techniques in a quiet carpark
On-the-road practice which may see you doing up to a 1hr - 1 1/2hr ride.

    WHY:
    - Practice essential skills for staying alive on the road.
    - Practical help with your riding.
    - Fun times with fellow riders, with great stories and discussions.
    - Build friendships, solicit advice and pick-up riding tips.

MEET at Z station Takanini -----------> before 6.55pm

    START ride -----------------------------> 7pm

FINISH ride at ex-Manukau City Council car park for slow-speed safety exercises -----> usually 8pm-8.15pm
(next to the new Manukau train station & opp. police station)

SOCIAL time @ BRONCOS after car park exercises -----------> 8.45pm-ish

Cost: Nil, nada, zip, zero, nothing... Just your time and attention.

Details of what will be happening each week will be posted on this thread. So kick the tires and light the fires... Let's ride, aSASSins!

    Disclaimer:
The SASS activity is intended to give any riders advice on their riding and to practice their skills in a safe and relaxed environment. The organisers of SASS are NOT responsible for any rider, their machines and/or any persons involved. All people attending SASS do so at their own risk.

Well, turns out to be the reg-rec... Costly thing to replace but at least now the Hornet aka Black Beauty is running sweet and smooth again.

Fingers crossed this'll be the last of anything major and unexpected...

Even better, just fitted braided lines and HH+ pads. Hope to be able to stop this time.

Nervous about moving into the faster group? Only real thing to watch is holding your line as you will be overtaken at much higher speeds.

Dont go past me to fast, let the old fella feel good about his speed.

I would have thought they would have checked that when they did the battery as they are a common Honda thing.

You should be sorted now, you can come out and help some newer riders.
