Good Luck with the Learners.
Try and get some riding in. Easy enough in the evenings with these long summer nights. Anything is going to be good. Even just pootling around your neighbourhood. In fact keeping to roads that you know will help you gain confidence. It helps to keep doing the same roads over and over. Get as many kms under your belt as possible. At SASS, we can do up to 100 kms (at an easy pace) before getting to the carpark.
About the fuel, I have a fuel light that will give me warning but I don't rely on it. I know how many kms I can get out of a tank of fuel. SO before I even start SASS, I have done a little bit of maths in my head. Do I have enough to get thru SASS or do I top it up before we start? Such a habit now that I don't actively think it, I just "know".
And that is what SASS is all about. When you practise so much that it is instinctive and therefore if shit happens, you are thinking of the important things and the rest just happen.
Hope the finger heals and we see you at SASS soon.
Arrrgh! I've been ambushed by in-laws!
Won't be able to make it for the ride but will drop by later to the car park or pub if even later...![]()

Can't move the finger so no riding for at least a week I'm guessing.
Might be worth while going and seeing about it, just incase. That way you will get an ACC number - in case something else happens, expect 6-8 weeks of hitting that finger on EVERYTHING

Agree with everything Sis says, also think quality riding, not just running along a straight piece of road.
Practise, Practise, Practise (yeah I need to follow my own advice)
Slow speed stuff really helps you bond with the bike and get more comfortable with lean angles etc.
I think Sis meant to say, most SASS rides are about 100ks long, some are longer, some are shorter.
Most rides are upto 100 kph (motorway).
It isnt a race, its about being responsible for YOURSELF and how you feel comfortable.
Once you are comfortable about riding at or near 100kph, and try not to keep up, ride at your own pace, save yourself some stress. You will improve it will take time.
Some learn fast, others at another pace. The Guys and Gals at SASS will accomodate you, you just have to make yourself HEARD, speak up, dont feel afraid to ask or feel that you will look silly.
Everyone started somewhere.
I know I have been there done that(done all the wrong things).
YOUR RIDING IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY and BTW enjoy your riding.![]()

Great ride tonight. And trying something a little different. Carpark work half way through.
After the figure 8's, I bet you all found the corners easier. Having a bit of a play sharpens the brain.
And I found the link on you tube about the license plate
