    Talking Mellow Yellow moments

Hehehe...great night riding and finally reconvening to kick off a new year. Good to see ya again Tigadee. Caseye and Funrunna, will see ya at the next SASS maybe. Am taking suggestions to confer a proper name on Agent Oranges usurper, some of the mooted suggestions thus far include: Crazy Canary (C.C), Mellow Yellow (M.Y), Bumbletron, Buzzy, Buzzybot, Sunny, Amber, Citrine...

Great meeting you and the rest. Was a very educational and fun evening. Learned some new stuff that really improved my riding, as well as tips for the mechanical side of things. Thanks Sis and Howard for patiently doing this, it's great and a real service to fellow bikers.

So, met some friends for a run to Kawhia food festival. Tentative in the going but soon settled into a groove. Concerned about the twisties, but Mellow Yellow goes into them like a dream. Getting used to the wide arms, and they make the countersteer that much easier. Very self conscious in that all eyes watch and wait for the chick to mess up, had an almost o shit moment when trying to manoeuvre the bike down a slope bank and got stuck, so had to reverse and rev to get up whilst not doing a slide plant and or rev into a crash. That was in front of pub garden bar full with people, luckily pulled it off and regrouped. Crisis averted.

However, pootling along, get to Whatawhata and stop, then try to start the bike up and ...she's dead...WTF...just filled up 15clicks back...what gives? So i check, my buddies check? We give it 10 mins, then try again. Kill switch-all good, petrol-yes...pulled key out a few times then try start her up. Hoorah, she starts. Boys reckon the taggy thing flappin in the wind somehow messed with bikes feng shui, but petrol icon on the consol came on, checked petrol and opened fuel cap to double check-yes it had petrol. Quandary-should i be alarmed. All in all, happy with how MY performs, but def need more experience, i'm still wary of the throttle and torque. ARGHHHH...pesky road works at various intervals along the route from Ngaruawahia to Kawhia, well...on one particular stretch bloody car kicked up gravel and flung it at my precious. So now i have a scratch on one of the pipes from where it caught the bike...goddamn it. Saw it coming in slow mo too, but there was nothing i could do..My precious...NNNOOOOOOooooo

Tomorrow gunna ride with blue to call on Maha and Mom, then perhaps head up to Waitangi with some buddies, get in some ride time with M.Y.

Glad to hear that you have averted a crisis on Mellow Yellow.

I did think of another name - Buttercup. Another oxymoron. Mellow Yellow is my favourite

Talking Back on Buttercup aka Mellow Yellow

    Hey y'all
Caseye-did both for ya, and will accept that my precious is gonna get some wing dings...in fact...i shall come to that one later on in the piece. Chuckle material i tell ya. Sis-i like Buttercup, but have taken to using Mellow Yellow...seems to fit. Nzspokes-i hope ur pootle went ok, ribs? Still in recovery mate?

So, i met blue-maha and a couple others Sunday and went for a ride round Dairy Flats/Woodcocks. Then met some buddies in Wellsford then headed up to Waitangi. Nice ride, roads have been done up real nice. Funny being the girl with a whole bunch of fullaz, def get some double looks from cars/peops on the town streets and at gas stations. KRACK UPs. I decided to gap it from Waitangi to go tiki touring solo that evening, whilst the guys did there thing-went round Whangaroa Puketi ways-lovely lovely. We headed back to Aukz this avo, as luck would have it, poured down upon leaving Waitangi, but boys took a lazy cruz home, so all good. HOWEVER, my buddies reckon there's something up with Mellow Yellow, idling funny and perhaps a in need of a clutch adjustment? When i accellerate apparently the can hear over revs, and i can feel it when i throttle on, is it supposed to do that or am i doing something incorrectly...Sis? They reckon it doesn't sound quite right, but that it's prob not too serious...dunno...Not sure if its the way um riding or the bike itself-what to do..Taupos this weekend...hmmmmm worries aside, exhilerated to have arrived home safe and sound without major O shite moments to report...except...we get to Warkworth and we're filtering, and i'm getting through without any probs...then...go through a que and PING...the mirrors just ping a cars passenger mirror...slowed at the lights slightly up from car, i turn around and gesticlate my profuse apologies wildly (couple in the car wave me on and just smile-thankyou lord and understanding jack and jill public) and mentally slap myself for forgetting about the wide westerns i now sport. ARGHHHH !!!!!!!!! But literally a ping sound, just nicked it, upon reaching home and cleaning my precious after angsting about it all the way home, i take a look and it only has the barest graze. But it was hilarious, wee ping...damnit forgot. So tired now...but just had to get on here to letchaz know. Love Mellow Yellow.

BTW-are all SASS members accounted for? Got back and read about the MC crash in Dannemora, terrible, toku aroha for the whanau.

I'm accounted for, just I saw a pic and didn't recognise the bike.

About Mellow Yellow, we are going to have to ask more to understand what is going on.

    See you tomorrow night

    Wink Nice Law Enforcement Officer

So, there are roadworks up where i live on the main drag-one way in and out type of deal. :no:Been like this going into a month and a bit with no joy in sight and the roadworks guys nowhere in sight either?? Anyhoo, y'all know how bleh i am about gravel, i can go through at slow speed without worrying about laying down but not gonna chance it on the new bike. Well, coming home from work i chance the pavement, well as luck would have it the popo were awaiting down yonda, so i pull over down a side street and officer 'brown sugar' :Police: does the usual. So i wait in ma frillies :bleh:whilst he makes his checks, he asks me bout why i used the cycleway devoid of pedestrian traffic, so i proceed to explain me concerns and whys. He pauses and then reprimands me BUT lets me off with a warning?? Tells me to take it up with the Council. YUSS!!!! Thank.You. Mr. Officer. Pretty decent of the bloke, and i was mightily impressed with the leniency-could've been a prick and stung me ta gather more govt revenue-but didn't. TOP NOTCH MATE>:clap::clap::clap: Wherever ya are L.E.O :niceone:

Can't wait to ride with a full complement again...Funrunna Funrunna...hehehe:banana::banana::banana::banana:: banana:
