Mine was dead too, so just bumped it leaving the driveway haha motorbikes are ridiculously easy to bump start.

    cornering

Ok, so I watched myself on the vid (thanks Rob) for 20+ mins. I discovered the high speed fast forward option far too late into the vid unfortunately!

Anyhooo, whilst I can see my mistakes I still don't quite get why.

All I know is that in the vid I corner poorly, as Rob said MX style with my body remaining upright whilst the bike leans.

I know from last nights ride that leaning forward reduces my wind resistance and helps me corner simply because my chest isn't taking a pounding from the wind and of course my arms, being attached to my chest, have more control.

However I also noticed with leaning forward I can stay far more stable on the outside of the curve and don't cross the centre line nor do I do the "multple stabs at cornering" behaviour that I sometimes do (the whole corner event is far more contiguous and stable and consistent curve action from me and the bike).

But I have no idea "why".

Plus, Rob, I was told to "look over my shoulder" which I have no idea what that actually means.

Whilst leaning forward improves my cornering a whole lot, in my mind I am still somewhat crossing my body across the bike as it leans into a corner, i.e. my body is not in line with the gravitational pull towards the tyres / circumference of the curve but leans into the curve waiting for the bike to catch-up. I'm still not in-line but just simply no longer sitting up-right. Is this correct?

    I'd appreciate some physics lessons!!

I wasn't there so could be wrong however I believe what is meant here is that you look over your shoulder THROUGH the corner. If you look through the corner, it unconsciously makes your body more comfortable and in the right position for the corner than when compared to being stiff and upright.

Watch this when you get a chance:

It covers more than just riding position and is a must watch for all riders.

Look over my shoulder refers to being my pillion. As you were in front of me you were not my pillion.

The why is easy, your arms are bent and you dont have weight on the bars so you are correctly guiding the front wheel not using the bars to hold on with.

For position it will be easier to explain in person.

Leaning forward has nothing to with correcting ''crossing the center line or "multiple stabs at cornering" another issue is a fault here.
I had a CB1300 and put a very small Givi screen on it which took the wind blast off my head area. The bike itself is designed for the more upright riding position and they go around corners (once you have sorted your corner entry issue) just fine.

and yes I know what happened later......

would agreed with Maha - Flanders you describe multiple issues. Try to separate them. Take your time you will come right.
