Hahaha, 300 kms is like a dream on my bike. 200 is the most I can expect before the fuel indicator starts flashing.

Im at Maraetai. Didnt get passed by you on way out. Dont run over me im on the cruiser.
Whr r u front braking at 50% throttle
I rode past him the other morning about 8:30. Bike on its side in the fast lane right in the middle of Tip Top corner. I didn't see what the bike was, but he was wearing a red and black jacket and leaning up against the median barrier holding his left shoulder. While he didn't look real bad, he didn't look very comfortable either and had obviously been there long enough for an ambulance to turn up - it was parked in the fast lane south bound. There were a couple of cars stopped, but not terribly obvious what had happened.
I'd be up for that... My best economy on the GSX-R was 4.3l/100kms. I have a 17l tank. The maths says I only have to average less than about 5.6l/100kms to make 300kms, and I've never really ridden this bike in a deliberate attempt to be economical yet (well it's only got about 600Kms on the clock so far), so I'm pretty sure I can do 300kms on an economy run... Challenge accepted!
I went for a little blat out to the lookout point at the top of the Waitakere ranges today (Pukematekeo Lookout) to test out my Contour Roam camera. What a beaut ride! Great road surfaces and nice curves complemented by fantastic scenery. The cam was disappointing, cos of the low light performance, but I got a couple of nice shots with my phone at the lookout point. I must make a point of taking pix at all of the destinations I ride to in future:

the more experienced riders should be answering this
but here I go:
when you are riding you are one of the following
stopped
cruising
accelerating
coasting
braking
- in my case singing and asleep.
when slowing down, I don't want to be rolling the throttle fully of before engaging the brake, as the front of the bike lifts and rolls a longway BEFORE any deacceleration. Every second at 100 you delay braking is quite a few metres you have travelled before you START decelerating. is that the right word?
BEFORE I adjusted the levers (and I still want to get adjustable ones - can anyone point me in the right direction/shop) I had to roll of the throttle fully and just caught the levers with my finger tips, sometimes there was a slip
Had a few good moments on several parts on my ride to Taupo, no accident but...a few OMG moments..
does that answer your question?

Maraetai - West Road - Twilight will be approx. April - those are tight twistes - want to do them before my full appraisal and then test with Phil at Riderskills
Been doing long rides - last night 3-1/2 hours out where there are no lights and lots and lots and lots of twistes
Chasing the sun - turn back when it goes down and the moon guides me back home- need to get better camera and take it with me
Building up the shoulders which have wasted away in the last 6 months, got a 1200 k ride coming up

Sounds like the equivalent of left foot braking. Only for the track
