    Bash a pom a day

In the early seventies a campaign was started to 'bash a pom a day'. Who remembers details; who started it, links to newspaper articles etc.

"Oscar" believes it may have been Phil Gifford [loose head len], the same personality now fronting advertisements against violence.

Same thing, just a different accent

I'm a Pom and I find the whole thing culturally insensitive.

Now give me half a mill and three hectares.

    Under water, or above?
It's only when you take the piss out of a partially shaved wookie with an overactive 'me' gene and stapled on piss flaps that it becomes a problem.

It started after Keith Murdouch was sent home for punching a person in the Angel Hotel in Cardiff.
It was an expression of support for the man and disgust for the rugby officials.
I lived in Cardiff and friends there know the person who was punched and have informned me that he thoroughly deserved it.

I have to withdraw the accusation against Mr. Gifford (who is an egotistical wanker anyway).
Further research has revealed the culprit to be the late Tim Bickerstaff.

My recollection was coloured by the fact that the group of bullies who thought it was funny to sneak up and punch me were also big fans of Loosehead Len. Bickerstaff & Gifford may have worked at the same Radio Station (or even been on the same show), as well.

I thought the Scots got themselves smashed... they even named the vile liquid after their country or origin.
