    Complete newb question

So today I dropped/tilted my bike over (nothing hit the ground as I was under it) and when I got it back upright
I noticed it had leaked some fluid.

After having a thorough look to see where it came from I noticed a tube that are not connected to anything.

My question is, Are these some sort of breather tube or are they meant to be connected to something?
I had a real good look to see if there was another end/tube that was not connected but had no luck, which
is why I think they are meant to be that way.

Any help with this is greatly appreciated

What was the other end attatched to? If it's the carb it's probably a breather/overflow. If battery it's a breather. If its off the tappet cover it's supposes to attatch to the airbox.

If one end's attatched to the brakes your fucked next ride.

Your quite right, there are tubes that appear to do nothing. I don't know your bike but it is quite common to have breather/drain tubes running from the petrol tank, battery, airbox, carbs etc. there is usually a little bunch of them peeking out under the frame. The most likely culprit for leakage in your case would be the petrol breather, which nearly always acts as a drain tube when the bike flops over.

From what you describe I don't think you have any thing to worry about but just to be on the mega safe side, check your battery electrolyte level, if it's not a sealed jobby and any reservoirs you have, brake x2 and possibly clutch. I'm as sure as I can be from here that it's just a bit of fuel found it's way out.

I used to know a bloke that identified mysterious leaks by licking them to ascertain their origin, I don't think he's with us anymore Good luck.
    Oh bugger

    Cheers guys for your responses

I had a look and it looks like I am safe. The tubes come from the places martybabe said, I checked all the other levels of fluid and nothing has changed.
Brakes and clutch are working as well.

I really need to learn more about this machine I put my life on.

Cheers and thanks for all your input.
