Killing Nissan Micra

I have the sad misfortune to have a Micra as a work vehicle and I believe they can run for months without oil - well, mine did before I got it! The silly bitch who had it before me NEVER checked the oil between services so when I got it, there was NO oil in the car at all. By NO oil, I mean the dipstick was dry apart from a blob of black sticky gunge on the end. I bought some oil and it took FOUR litres to bring it up to the right level! It runs so much smoother now!

How is that "sad misfortune". The fact that the car runs at all is a bloody miracle really! (If you're just complaining about having a Micra as a company car - HTFU or buy your own Mercedes )

I can't agree about the Mitsubishis though - I've had heaps of them as work vehicles and never had any trouble, and we've had a Lancer as a personal car for seven years and only had one problem in all that time and that was caused by some idiot at the dealership not tightening something up when it went in for a service - something to do with the fanbelt I think, and it snapped and broke something.

Well, I am sure that most Mitsubishis runs well without burning oil. However, if you look at the obvious oil-burners around town Mitsubishi is over-represented.
