Weather is looking good, its great nigel has set up the satuday as a have a go day, you get plently of track time to test your suspension and have time on the bike.
The bike is so reliable so all i have to do is ride it, Ive seen a few of the 150's that have been thrashed all their lives and they give you trouble.
See you there. -Max
1. as does any class, ss150 included..
2. I've never liked the comparison between f4(&f5) vs. ss150. the ss150 was born out of Tim Gibbs & Suzuki NZ (and others) "someone please correct me if I'm wrong here"... the idea of entry level race bikes to get more people into the sport & buy RG150s - (at the same stage as buckets were die'ing out in the central north island; and most buckets were still buckets of sh1t). I think we have seen an evolution over the past 4-5 years, where F4 has moved forward into a class that could be sustained as a supporting entry level race class (even on bigger tracks) as seen down south with the motoFXR. Its still a great learner class and probably teachers more about bike setup and race craft than ss150.
3. I'm coming, I want to kick some ss150 ass with my 30year old pile of crap; or blow it up so i can build a new one(more likely).
anyway I'm looking forward to it.

Most ss150 riders {teenagers} ride both but i much prefer a ss150 bike on the big track, i think the ss150 class teach's you more about fast big track racign and its cheap.....try build a 28hp bucket for $1500.......if you have no technical knowledge
I wasn't attacking you. nor the SS150 class (I even did some of the original SS back last century and again 2005/06), I think its great; its a shame there isn't more bikes out there now. - more bikes can require more skill to deal with (braking, passing cornering etc).
and its a real shame that you can't play or improve the bikes (I guess that's what I like more about F4)
you are right 28hp for less than 1500 maybe hard but not impossible.
Personally I find small bikes on big tracks great fun. who needs brakes ???
I am sure they have every intention of building the kart track. It is just a matter of when. There is still a shit load of money to be spent to get the rest of track up to the standard expeceted (I am talking out buildings, pits, etc. not just the rest of the international circuit). Its just a matter of money.
i didnt think you were attacking me. small bikes are fun on taupo track 2 but after doing taupo track 1 on a stock fxr150 its funner with more power.
ss150 isnt too small just yet, the bike rider series {which is on same time as the nationals} has attracted 9 ss150 bikes which is a good feild, even most the riders are novices ill still have a good time trying battle the Firn twins
I wish i could ride both ss150 and buckets, but they have combined the both. But ill bring the cbr jsut in case someones bike craps out and they can ride it.
at the trrs there was 14 ss150 riders. Not many twins, peolple seem to start at a later age in the north island.
I think I finnished 5th in ss150 last year on my fxr at the TRRS they ran us all together they blasted past down the straight but the slicks got most of it back on the brakes and on the infeild .
that sounds about right, but ss150 was faster this year, slicks are MUCH better tho......my cbr feels more "planted" on the track than the KRR becuase of slicks VS bt39's......but its fun sometimes having average tires because it keeps you on edge.
i meant ealier....
Plus danile mettam is bloody young, he only 14! and he's startign 125's!
Chatted with a guy who had bought a crashed 250 Ninja and was racing it at Levels with the 150's. Interesting that he commented that the 250 handled way worse than the FXR150 that he use to race in buckets. He was running top 5 at Ruapuna in the Nationals.
well i know for sure a hyosung gt250 racebike handles ALOT better than a fxr.....and brakes better too
