Sorry kids, no go for me again...

Was hoping to organise a ride to Puke, for the track meet, but have to put it on hold cause of personal reasons.

    Again, sorry.

My bike is out of action at the moment, minor mechanical issues that I'm getting sorted out. Just don't wanna push it too far until everything is back up to spec in case it leads to further (more expensive) issues.

    Sorry guys.

Just to let everyone know, NO this thread hasn't died - I'm just having technical issues with my bike... Here's the story...

Fully serviced my CBR last weekend, thanks in part to the guys at Cyclespot Honda on Barrys Point Road, and she was running like a dream too! Went to a job interview on Monday at the Takapuna council offices, and when I came out I noticed a little piece of paper on the H-Frame... Oh No, I thought, what's happened...
Turns out someone decided to reverse into my bike, pushing it over, then drove off. Fortunately, however, a good samaritan by the name of Moa and the meter lady picked my bike up, as well as getting the Rego Number of the car that hit it. Damage? Some pretty heavy scratching on the right hand bar-end, engine cover, exhaust, and footpeg. And the engine seems to be running a bit rough again. DAMMIT! So, got home, spent about four hours pulling things apart again, checking for anything out of the ordinary - a couple of broken engine braces under the tank, and cleaned some oil out from under the air-filter - thinking I'm gonna take her into the mechanic again before going on any more rides...

Suffice to say though, not impressed. Sorry guys, looks like I won't be out on any rides for at least the next couple of weekends, while I sort my finances out once more.

Not sure if I will report it, the guy I spoke to said that it was an elderly couple and that they may have not even realised they backed into my bike... Don't think I would feel very good if they got charged with hit and run or something like that... Damages aren't too expensive, certainly not more than the excess on my insurance, so just gonna sort it out myself... I'm just lucky my nice Repsol fairings weren't scratched up.

Well, still haven't made up my mind anyways.

Dude, tell your insurance and they'll sort it.
If you can back into a bike and not notice, they're dangerous.
It's also unlikely they'd be charged with hit and run.

Gis a yell if you need any help or tools.

I reckon you should report it,no matter what their age is,they need to take responsibility for their actions, just like I did when I scratched that car a few months ago on the friday ride, the bill ended up being $2209!!!!

Sorry about the bike mate! I'm a noob down in the BOP. Still haven't got my first bike yet, but will shortly. If you lot are ever down this way on a ride sometime in the future I'd be interested in joining up with you down this end.

Should they be on the road if they can't see a bike blatently parked behind them!? Sorry to hear bout that mate... On the lighter note to make some of ya jealous I called in sick to work today, went to Barry's Point Rd, checked out bikes, then proceeded onto doing SH16 with not a single car in the way the whole time . And still got home before the Jaffa traffic . Tis fun.
