    Insuring your race bike?

Do you guy's insure your race bikes? If so, what type of policy ie; fire & theft & transit etc etc

What company do you use and how much do you pay for what cc rating/ type of bike?

Do you think it is worth it? I mean for POM sakes, although I only race a 'shitty old streetstock' I couldn't afford to replace it if the worst should happen...

Yeah I did and he was awesome. Unfortunately we dont have a garage so he couldnt do any better than Swann and Star is out of the question. My dilemna is that I have just bought another RG150 for the road. Up until now I have had both the FXR and my race RG insured with Swann for $28.40 per month an dthat is full comprehensive insurabce! So I rang them today to get my 3rd bike put onto my premium but because of the arsehole scum sucking thieves out there Swann has had to raise its premiums. It was going to cost me another $23 a month on top of the $28.40 to insure all 3. So I rang Dave and basically its bad news.
What I need to decide is; Do I really need to insure my race bike? Short answer is YES! But I also need to insure the FXR and road RG as me and Malcolm commute on them. Basically I am in a bit of a pickle and dont really think I can justify $50+ a month on 3, dare I say 'shitty' bikes when I would end up paying the value of all 3 in around 4-5 years. Unfortunately I dont want to take the risk cause I do have my fair share of bad luck, lol!

    hey Helen,

i think its time the bikes came and lived inside

but seriously... i think you answered your own question in your first post..... can you afford to replace the bike if its stolen or crashed? if you need the bike and cant afford to replace it what would you do? If you are able to... i'd insure them.... and Dave would be the best bet to find a deal if there is one out there for you

Because unless it is locked in a building, which apparently can just be a garden shed then they wont cover you. That would be no problem if we didnt lived on the first level instead of the second. we have had a bike living in our lounge once before, lol!

Yeah I was thinking with the thing bolted to the ground, and under a cover, you probably won't need insurance. (For theft anyway)

Hey if my garage was a little big bigger I would do you a good deal on rental space LOL
