I love it you lot jump to conclusions long before the facts become public:
The only facts out there are these:
There were more than 30 unregistered dogs on the property:
The owner had already destroyed one as it had attacked someones livestock:
Dogs are pack animals, and their behaviour is learned:
They were dogs, not humans and whilst we love our pets they do not suffer from our feelings and emotions:
Shooting animals humanly is legal - as yet it has not been proved the shootings were inhumane:
Living on the land I am well aware that when you kill a beast/sheep/goat ect their paddock fellows hardly blink an eye, and will continue grazing around the killed animal:
The SPCA's performance on tv tonight was as bad as the heralds publishing the photo, whilst the sight of the dead dogs may well have upset their so called inspectors, they without proof condemned the killings as inhumane without evidence.
Don't judge me based upon your ignorance.

Dogs were pack animals, just like humans used to drag there knuckles on the ground when they walked.Things have moved on a bit and in my lifetime spent with both my own working and pet dogs ive no choice but to disagree, dogs dont understand english or any other language (no shit) fair call but feelings and emotion ive no doubt what so ever that they do.

Feelings and emotion? do not make the mistake of placing upon our 4 legged friends human type emotion, even our concept of pain has been proved to be different in animals:

    By whom...?
It's only when you take the piss out of a partially shaved wookie with an overactive 'me' gene and stapled on piss flaps that it becomes a problem.

Do you have the name of the dog that told em so,love to meet him.Seriously though its probably a subject that we will have no agreement no matter what so will just have to agree to disagree.Theres an old Border Collie streched out on my couch (possibly it feels good),ex working dog that had an accident (involved a fucked up hip and at the time of the accident his reaction was similar to that of a human in pain) i for the hell of it turned around and gave him my best "wtf are you doing on the couch again glare" and he just rolled over onto his back in his best "fuck you" pose, maybe some dont but this one has emotion down pat.

Great post 98, we have a couple spread out indoors as well, easy for me to shoot any of our stock should they be injured or need eating, but with the dogs indoors if they were in pain, not sure I could do it - human emotion, a couple of animals in a paddock / the wild, ones injured the other will just abandon or perhaps even eat it, if not something else passing by will for sure.

Lets just say...(a wish list of sorts)

We put 36 Dangerous Bastarsds in a confined space and shot them to death....

Would there be such a public outrage??

I do not see the point of showing photos of dead dogs that had been inhumanely killed on the back of a ute and covered in flies. Photos of this nature are extrememly upsetting, especially to young children and any animal lover.

Why could this have not been placed further inside the paper with a warning of the content. If the News on TV has to do this, surely printed media should follow suit.

When I looked at the paper this morning as I ate my breakfast, I almost threw up and was extremely upset over this photo.

They shopuld consider the reactions of their readers and the general public who will see the newspaper displayed in shops etc.

This is yet another example of the Herald's inconsiderate and inconsistant reporting that makes me wonder why I continue to subscribe.
Yep, had to be a sheila that got all cut up about a few dogs getting shot.

There's way worse than that happening in NZ girlie..........

Big surprise from NZ Herald. just more of the same shit from the clowns that brought you "Identifying our soldiers so you can shoot at them"
    Sensationalist bullshit
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,

Settle Mike, the media never worries about having too many facts in their stories, emotion and drama's where it's at with the media.

Facts can ruin a story for them.
