Our eldest son was an Otago student many moons ago. Also many moons ago, we promised him a painting to commemorate his days there - a collage of some of the Dunedin landmarks which meant a lot to him - Gardies, Knox College, student houses etc. We contacted a few professional artists with the idea of a commission but as expected, the fees were a sight more than we could reasonably afford so we let it slide.
Haven't forgotten about it though and we were wondering whether anyone knows a talented student who might be up for the commission and a decent fee to go with it. We even have a sketch from our son of what he's looking for as a guide. I won't post that up at the moment but the style he's looking for is as per the attached photo of Sarah Cundy's work - a fairly simplistic style with bright primary colours.
Anyway, if you know anyone who might be an impoverished, talented art student, point them in our direction!
