A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

Bump !!!
Couple of the guys will be getting a head shave as a fundraiser for a local school pupil who's going overseas as an exchange student !
Come along and throw eggs or something !!!
If the weather comes right tommorrow, a few of us are meeting at the Otaki mobil at 8 am and will be taking the long route to the carpark, via the rimatakas, masterton, pahiatua track, back to otaki !
So drag your pride and joy out of the shed and bowl on down to show it off and say hello !

Tis that !!! The speed triple is well suited for the paekok, rimataka, pahiatua track loop as well, if it wasn't for the novelty not having yet worn off with the FXR, i'd be tempted to drag my speed 3 out for tommorrows ride !
But i might just mould some neadit sliders onto the FXR's frame lol

Erm - well, that was an 'interesting' experience.
We were up early (cos old people get up early, its traditional) so I slipped a new chain onto the trophy (god why does anything to do with a drive chain turn into a messy drama) and we idled up there arriving... ooohh... 10:45 ish?? 3 cool old choppers and no one else except for a couple of slightly grumpy organiser types... Hmm.. Helmets on and Vicki and I will sneak off for a coffee methinks as THE organiser appeared (very nice chap)...
Pull up for a coffee next to an EVO HD roadroyalty summit and hop off to the old 'loud enough to make sure you hear but not directed straight at you comment'... "Huh, cant be arsed with that old shit all those cunts do is polish them and I like to ride..." Obviously VERY perceptive locals as it usually takes most folks at least 30mins to realise I'm a cunt ... This guy set a new record...
Oh well, coffee was good (great actually) so we read the paper and had a second cup and wandered back, now about 11:30 or so?) same 3 chops and also mr mutterer (he who likes to ride) and his mates blinking at us in a pretty non friendly fashion... Ooops... We got the old, 'I think we are in the wrong place' feeling... Time to go home....
Sooo... We rode home noticing lots of HD types going north looking super staunch and not acknowledging two old farts on an old bike... Whoops, we forgot the golden rule of motorcycling.. (call it a senior moment)... Stick to your tribe, obey the rules of the tribe, dress like the tribe and never leave home without your tribe...
(sorry mr organiser guy, you tried and seemed a good guy)
I had the feeling Mr grumpy was not in the mood for pictures... he seemed of the 'this is a 'bad ass biker' event... feck off... To be fair, we were there earlier than the crowds (well it did say starts 10am) and we have gone other times and had fun. I think it was just an unlucky encounter with mr grumpy... Although, as the loverly Victoria said, hell, its just going to be single guys there this early on Valentines day, what were you expecting?????
Sorry about that Paul, Mr grumpy was not grumpy at you, but rather the rest of us who didn't show till 1.30 (won't mention the interclub battles), when we rocked in after our loop around the block, Hey we were told there was nothing left for us to organise, so figured 4 hours on the bike and a couple hours socialising, rather than 6 hours at a pub standing around drinkin, didn't think about having a few amiacable folk there for the meet and greet, sorry mate !
And to be honest with ya, If it's the bear with a sore head who i'm thinkin it was, well he was riding an old tiger only a year or so back !
Would have been Old Len who ya met first, he would have appreciated your bike as he's a collector of classic british (though he cant ride em no more and is gettin out of em, fuck gettin old aye)
Was a good 60 odd bikes there when we arrived (the chops were still there and one i might add, was artwork, loved it)
There was a number of, as you say, hard arsed bikers there, but define that for me as in my view, you (enthusiast) and your lovely lady were the sort of folk i for one, wanted to see there and once again i oppologise, the show has been runing for several years and it has been predominantly American and British that show up (with a splattering of Jap bikes) and It has put a few ppl off, as your comment aint the first feedback i've got from yesterday (british rider i might add) !
There were a few patches wandering around when i got there and thats all good, as it was open to any who wanted to come along !
I Do feel stink that i dragged the guys who do the wandering around getting to know those who show up, away with me till mid afternoon and if i'm still involved when the next show day comes round we (those who aint grumpy old cunts, cause they cant ride for one reason or another) will be there first thing !
Once again mate i'm sorry there were any bad vibes when you arrived in the morning, (will open a can of whoopass at the next meeting)
