    Finally made it home

Great weekend, mint weather for an awesome ride up the coast on friday, caught up with genie dori & kzt at canvastown, time for a drink and some lunch and then off to Nelson. Friday night and saturday morning catching up with family and then out for a great night at the rally, a few quiet drinkies and watching the entertainment both planned and impromptu.

A fairly leisurely start to Sunday, and more great weather for the ride home down the middle, a few stops for gas, pies and a red bull and a great run down as far as Culverden. Went to move the bike, hit the starter and.....nothing A bit of roadside diagnostics couldn't sort it, managed to bump start it but the disco lights on the dash sort of gave away that things weren't right. So off to the pub while waiting for the rescue crew, loaded up and off to the hurinui for dinner and a very pleasant evening with a couple of friends, the bike is parked and I'll look at it later.

Anyway, cheers to dangerous GB and thunder for the company on the road, thanks to genie for her hospitality, and nice to meet kzt and dori and a few others whose names I may remember later......

    Heading home in disgrace......

    You and me both

I'll stick another battery on it tonight and see if it behaves, hopefully it's charging properly and everything is working OK. If not it might be off to motorbike hospital, assuming a large amount of money suddenly finds it's way into my bank account, otherwise it may be parked for a while....

BUGGA POOS AND WEES, that sucks and not in a good way.

Glad you made it most of the way home on the bike and I hope it was just a little tired from all that partying.

Had a great weekend , thanks to Genie for the accomodation & hospitality. Thought I had better post due to being called a lurker LOL. Really enjoyed the ride home yesterday, wasnt hungover for a change , buggar about Neels bike but shit happens. It was great to meet some more kiwibikers Dori & KZT.
It was the first decent ride I have done on the bking , went great but might need to set the suspension up a bit better.

Bugger to hear about neels bike, dam near needed a trailer myself, I did the Ulysses longest day ride and if things had gone any worse it could have been a bad ending, there is a write up on SR for those who know their way there.

I hope yours is minor neels.
Its not the destination that is important its the journey.

But anyway, hooked another battery up tonight & she fired up straight away and dash back to normal, tacho was a bit funky for a while but seems to have settled down now. So it looks like just a dead battery, was in the bike when I bought it so have no idea how old it is, but judging by the way a couple of cells started fizzing as soon as I stuck the charger on it I think it's well and truly shagged. Charging voltage seems to be OK, and only 0.3V of AC at the battery so the rec/reg looks to be working as advertised.

Off to the battery shop tomorrow for a new one, and a fresh coat of heatsink paste on the reg while it's in bits, in the end it looks like a case of fine Italian engineering being let down by Taiwanese rubbish.

Wink Hi, and that was the Maitai

Ding dong the alarm went off, I hit the disarm...
No charm, again it went OFF
If me had gun, it woulda went POOF!!!!
Hell time to ride the Guzzi like it was my cuzzie,
Hey I might be from Reefton....but nooo, that aint my go!

Met up with the pack, rode out of town, thought dangerous had lost he's sack.
So damn slow, thought we all wearing L's, that wern't not swell.
Later realised the factor, it was the tractor.
Warm before you fly like a swarm.
    And that we did.
Stopping few and far till the Trout, for a wee shout.

Time to get sick, flick fack fuck, that road rocks...Whangamoooooooa.
Was wundering how we all gunna fit into the bottle... Genie was no meanie, no need for a Beanie on the porch.
There was no gripe when danger said he would fit the pipe... shite....
The wheels of Genie generated noise...she would now play like the boyz!!!!

A night with not to much clout.
    Awoke and then some spoke.
    Takakakakakakakaka....kaaaa yeee yaaaa
Them hills get ya in a tangle, bo jangle.
Tiki tour from here to there and every where, here here.
Lucky we made it to the site before there was no light.
It was great night, did not get to out of sight, and awoke very bright.

    A good showing,
Given many thought rally wernt not going.
    Awesome peeps,
Got plenty of photo's for keeps.
