Smalllest number of participants ever @ the P.P. - crappy weather has seen lots heading for home, only about 1/4 the amount there when we left for home in the snow this afternoon.
And we weren't the only ones to pull the pin...

Pin pulled.

Nighthawk wasn't feeling 100% and imagine staying in snow when you are already unwell... By the time we got back to Dunedin I was soaked, frozen, and feeling terrible myself.

I think that was my first ever day ride to a rally and the first time NH has pulled the pin.

Weather looks great outside now though...

we were staying in Alex looking after a lodge so could not leave untill Saturday, so with the bikes packed & ready to

we would head home in the morning pick them up & be gone, so with a glass or two of vino the spa at 45 deg

by 2130, woke up thinking it was time to go so asked Mrs S what the time was (had no clock) 0330, so can we get go'n coz by the time we have breakie etc... it would be (her) NO

it's 3:30 (me) does that mean you don't want to go yet (her)

me thinks good time to keep mouth shut

0530 you can get up now

so the three S's done & out of the way, I cooked B & E coffee etc... (checks to see if still in dog box)

bye to the kids & gone by 0630 picked up bikes & headed for the coast, the sun shine was out, roads dry with air temp on the cool side, crusing at 80ish ish, going through the Beaumont forrest & about 180lb pig runs across our path, bugga no gun or knife had to just watch it run into the scrub, onto the riviera of the south stopping for coffee with scummy, normajean, the rabble, nighthawk & Xaria, on leaving Mrs Shrek decieds to leave her mark on the neighbours lawn when leaving

pulled over & asked if Mrs S wanted to put her wets on, no we not to far away, about another five k's on round the corner & rode into a snow storm (well I did try to warn her) got to the site covered in snow set up & got to know the neighbours in front & started on the vino it didn't take long to warm up with a ltr or two on the inside with a few sips of other, by now there were a few leaving as the weather was just not getting any better & the snow was coming alot faster, so we got a lift to the pub with kiwiphoenix after saying

to knighthawk, Xaria, kerrhare, Jmemonic & others, had a great lunch with coffee as the vino had realy kicked in & it was only about 2ish

walked back to the site in the sun Mrs S went for a nanna nap & I caught up with silver grin & mrs SG cheers guys

round the camp & main tent

all the way keeping the cold out as we went, buy the time it was dark the temp was

& around 1930 Mrs Shrek comes over & said i'm off to scummy's it's to cold & i'm frezzing what are you do'n, i'm stay'n so she sorts out her stuff comes over & gives me

by the time we got to SD's the weather was shyte, so with white bait patties & fellow back steaks & other yummy food wine shots warm bed a great night was had

normajean took us out to the site in the morning & Mrs S said that she wont be riding in the snow, so pack up put in Nj's car & I

back to Roxburgh pick up

gun, bike trailer behind 4x4, & headed back to SD's via the forrest

& headed home & a spa was a great weekend with good people & company cheers
