I've got a front fender to get repaired - it's from a Suzuki VL1500 and It looks to be made out of steel. Can anyone suggest a panel beater that they've used before or perhaps a bike specific one?

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.
