    R1 headstock bearings coming loose

The headstock on my 04 R1 keeps coming loose: And as I dont have C spanners I keep using a bar and hammer to tap the two nuts tight again. Twice I have asked the guys where I get the bike serviced to have a look at this and twice they have said they can find nothing wrong. I pulled it halfway apart last night, not marks on the inside of the top bearing race so I will put it all back togeather. So what I need to know is this. If I simply get two C spanners tighten the bottom nut up and tighten the top nut up against it properly will it stop coming loose? What kind of grease should I use in there (and where would I get it)? I know nothing about packing bearings so I work on the "theres no such thing as too much" principal. Oh and is there any way of knowing how tight to do up the first nut?
    Any advise will be appreciated.
If you can keep your head when all about you are loosing theirs.........it's quite possible you haven't grasped the situation.

Do many wheelies? Wasn't there a model of R1 that had a soft head stock and thus kept loosening off the bearings? Might be worth asking on an R1 specific forum
