Testing the water. Front end swap?

well been thinking about it for some time now, wanting to swap the front end of the vfr to a late model front end, inc upside down forks big brakes.
im guessing the complete front end would be eaisest wheel brakes disks lines tiripple trees etc,

well if any one has some thing lying around that may fit a rc36 vfr750 woulding mind hearing from you,

Might pay to add what make/model parts would suit the conversion, or would be prefered to make life easier doing the swap....

Nico I have to ask why you want to do this modification. Im not being a negative sod here but I spent a truck load of money fitting a USD front end into my SV650 race bike then another truck load of money setting it up so it performed as it should. On hindsight I could have spent the amount I did on setup alone and got a really good normal way up set of forks built by RT.
Ignoring any possible rake/trail issues for a moment things to concider are
1)steering stop location needs to be sorted.
2)The steering head bearings may need to be replaced and sometimes you need a machined top bearing.
3)the lenth of the steering stem needs to be the same as the viffer. Itsillegal to cut n weld a stem.
4)the forks and controls have to clear the fairings
5)The shim, spring, oil weights need to be appropriate for the bike

Now my thought would be that a huge improvement could be had using the right way uppers you have and getting them tricked up.
--By the way as the ownerof a 91 viffer 750 im watching with interest.

Sounds like it would be a very rewarding project.

I do think you are right to check and see if someone has done this before to het their 'with hindsight' assessment.

A big plus for Frosty's comments and experience.

My main concern would be over the balance and handling.

    Good luck.
