I was starting to think I had joined the tuesday night off road ride at one point.

Was a F/TRuckload of gravel. If I was on my own I would have been in first gear with my feel hovering either side of the bike. But, as others were about and I didn't want to look like a prat, I did the gravel in second gear and kept the feet firmly on the pegs. Was actually a good experience as it got me over my nervousness about riding on gravel.

That said the bike did squirm a couple of times and I was very relieved that I had just fitted a rad guard (lots of pinging stones).

Ratti is a born off road rider in my opinion - she took that gravel like it wasn't even there.

Was looking forward to doing the whole ride but the cellphone buzzed, called in to reboot a server...effing IT jobs ruin ride nights I tell ya.

Hey Eyegasm, I used to do the Wainui 500 every day too, great hill that!
Just at night, be careful of the merge lanes at the top, you wont see any fresh diesel left by the busses in the dark.
My advice is ALWAYS crest the hill in the outside lane (less buss diesel spills in that lane for obvious reasons) and enjoy the off cambers
    Just ride.

Gidday Stoney, was good to meet up last night. Know what you mean about rebooting servers, brother in law has to do it numerous times through the weekends which play havoc with his riding too.

A good comment about diesel left by buses, appreciate it and that the novice riders that have attended the Tuesday rides do pickup on this type of feedback.

Great to meet a few new riders... and an interesting and very relaxing ride through town and around the coast. Nice one Eyegasm for avoiding the white shopping basket! I was heavy on the anchors behind you and you did well keeping out of trouble.

Bike got a bit hot so had to get some air through the rad on the way back... roll on this evening... DJ

If Im a born off roader then that would explain my present difficulties in cornering. I should just take the zed off road with Eugene!

Hey Buck Buck. I have it in my diary for Friday that we are going for a pootle over the hil to check out the Wainui road. IS that correct? Ive got 1.15, but if you still want to do it, can we go about 12? I have a heap of 10 yo girls coming for a birthday sleepover that night and I need to make sure I'm home after school.
Was anyone else going to ride over too?

Good ride tonight. Certainly mixed it up a bit which was good. Gave people more options given the diversity of the group.

I know the feeling. Actually that could be an interesting excuse for speeding.... "My bike was on fire and I was trying to blow it out!!"

Indeed, another lovely and very enjoyable ride. Thanks everyone for last night. Once again looking forward to next week. Can't this lovely weather just last unitl, next summer perhaps?

Good turn out. Always love looking back in the mirror and seeing a line up on bikes like that. Quite a buzz actually

I remember the "buzz" of riding in a group from my first ride out with the KB Wednesday night crew. It was great to see bikes streaming ahead into the distance - and the noise was awesome. And each Wednesday (or Tuesday) that I manage to attend, I still get the same funky feeling. Trying to describe it to non-bikers is weird - they just dont get it... a big group of bikes, a sunny evening, sticky tarmac and a full tank of gas... there is nothing quite like it... DJ
