Im here, anyone want to apologise on the mess the English made the Maori today???
They would still be in grass huts, killing each other. Not riding bikes, having internet etc if the English weren't around now, would they???
Nope! Thought not![]()
There isnt any Maori people, we are extinct, there is no such thing as a Maori only a 'Eastern European sub group' or 'Half/quarter cast'. So where do we feel a belonging, doesent everyone deserve to have a sense of belonging or roots to culture and its people because we cant all ours is turned into Scottish or Irish. Hell up north alot of Maori have mixes with the Yugoslavians. Europeans have taken that away from us.
I hardly think they were forced to have sex, creating so many children.
I think you may need to re-think that one. Everyone had a choice when they found new partners. Ever thought they liked the Europeans????
You are correct, there are now no true full-blooded Maoris in NZ or in the world. Therefore I cannot understand why there is so much Bullshit about Waitangi Day, as the cultures have interchanged so much now.
Lets just get on with life as it is in this day and age
But Crazyhorse, the Europeans took Maori women as their wife's starting from before the treaty. Apparently the Maori women were 'beautiful' to the English men so they acted on it.
Bit before the 1900's the Maori men were in a shortage of Maori women and the population came to an equilibrium at 60,000 people on both sides then years after that Maori became a minority.
