This will be me this weekend, could be a wet one,
Why would you ride that long and that gnarly stuff if you don't have to, Its what we do, we love it.

Thought I might have had to give this a miss but Cyclespot reckon they'll have my wheel repaired by Friday. It shall be interesting to see how the numbers compare to the first two rides - it is Valentines day after all.

How does this ride compare to Glen Murray & Paparimu? I'm still very much a beginner, I enjoyed Paparimu but didn't enjoy being stuck on the big clay hill for an hour.

I can't comment on the comparison but I would expect similar terrain with some bits you will find challenging......thats why you go isn't....to learn?

These are family rides and are aimed at providing a ride to suit the majority of the trail riding population from learners to competent riders, make sure you stick to the B loop and get competent on that, if there are hard bits, stop and watch some others and learn how they get around the obstacle...ask questions, people will always try and help.

Make sure your bike is well prepared, has decent tyres and set at a suitable pressure (8-12psi?) then get out there and enjoy yourself.

Yeah it's the 3rd time they've come loose now! Loctite doesn't seem to work. This time round the nuts stayed on for 4 weeks. This time I lost 2 bolts, bent two, dented the swingarm.. this is not good.

Did them last year and the GM and Paps this year. Comparing, I'd say last years Waeranga was hillier otherwise a very similar ride. If you enjoyed GM and Paps you'll enjoy Waeranga. Having said that Waeranga ride this year appears to be located across the road - which I haven't done.

Sounds like I'll cope if I stick to the B loop then. Have really enjoyed the first two rounds. Not bad for only owning a bike for 3 months.

Just have to see if my mate can get a leave pass or I'll be riding solo - perks of single life.
