MNZ annouces new Road Race Commission

Pinched from the handy www.nzsbk.co.nz website:

MNZ annouces new Road Race Commission

Road Racing moves into an exciting ‘New’ phase with the appointment of a Chairman led Road Race Commission to over see all aspects of road racing , including the National series.

In order to give the ‘Sport’ the benefit of a wide range of experience and knowledge and continue moving the ‘Sport’ forward.

The MNZ Board has appointed the following Commission members

    They are:

    Peter Ramage (Chairman) Invercargill.

    Neil Smith Blenhiem.

    Ian Dawson Wellington .

    Brian Bernard Wanganui.

Maarty Van Booma Hawkes Bay .

All five have been involved with Road Racing for a considerable period of time and all are still involved today. They cover both Islands.

Each brings different skills to the table and they have all been or are competitors at National level and all have the passion to move Road Racing to the next level.

“The Board is very happy with the new move and are confident this group will continue the excellent work done by Paul Stewart,” said MNZ President Jim Tuckerman from his Auckland base this week.

    Probably the latter

A good choice of members with a lot of "years" between them and a lot of hands on experience. I wish them all the best and hope they can "shake it up"

I think MNZ will be pretty happy to let someone pick up the ball and run with it, especially with a few people to carry the load. Gotta be good to have a few folks spread around picking up and presenting different ideas too.

Who do you mean by "MNZ"? The Commissioner(s) run the sport (in every discipline). Obviously there are budgets etc but if the Commission wants changes they put them forward to the Board of MNZ for discussion and ratification.

As I understood there was no roadrace commissoner as such,As the incumbent and only nomination had withdrawn their nomination pre the AGM ???

Careful, you'll be getting a warning about the MNZ code of conduct
(xii) Any act which is likely to diminish the good reputation of MNZ, its members (including any club), Officers, staff, or other officials

Not without a fight, anyone that thinks in 2010 and beyond that you can run with standard suspensionon 600 and 1000cc bikes and not have tyre and fade issues on our wide disparity of tracks has got rocks in their head. It is also third world mentality and out of step with other developed countries, including our dingo mates.

I love your work Billy and know how youve been ground into the carpet by people you have done a lot of work for at mates rates or much less, its all too common.
