Some interesting vehicles coming up at Turners in Christchurch:

They've even got a 1925 AJS in there (sorry, seriously off-topic...).

Speaking of British classics, I have my father-in-law staying with us at the moment. I'm sure I've mentioned it before, he owns three Morris Marina's (TC Coupe, Sedan and ute) and is 100% blind.
Picked him up in my 'new' Rover, he's never seen one and never will most likely (unless his MS went away overnight), he liked the sound of the V6 when I dropped the hammer

Glad the new car's going well. Sorry to hear the hammer fell off. That's an unfortunate British car quirk.
For a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him.Keep an open mind, just dont let your brains fall out.
"What on Earth is that ?"
"It's a Morris Marina................"
I have spent 15% of the value of my Marina ute getting the rust fixed.
Rust that SHOULD have been picked up at the last WOF.
IMHO these cars were constructed out of pre-rusted metal!![]()
Winding up drongos, foil hat wearers and over sensitive KBers for over 14,000 posts...........![]()
" Life is not a rehearsal, it's as happy or miserable as you want to make it"
Yes you are correct and that was the argument at the time. The Italians were the most famous for it with their 40% recycled (scrap) 60% new metal mix for Fiats and Alpha.
Leyland wasn't quite as bad. I used to go to a Leyland dealer whom told me that there isn't much point buying OEM panels, as they will also rust very quickly. The third party stuff was so much better and if you could get fibreglass copies, just do it. My 1979 Marina 1700L had a large rust spot of rust close to the centre of the boot. It was only 3 years old![]()
Hmmm.
It would appear that I've just bought a XJ Jag Limo.
