Larger models like the Hippo and Octopus had a twin stick.
Cheers for that. The old film clip they played of them being tested by the layland engineers was the best thing I have seen on tv in a long time.

Gotta love the injector set up on that wee beauty. I kept expecting to hear a miss, like a hit and miss engine.

Was a great watch wasn't it. Not a high vis in sight when performing the brake tests on the motorway either. And then they park it up in the lane and get out the tape measure. I think it is on again sometime this week, I am going to try really hard to get it taped. Those winstone trucks were pretty common around auckland once upon a time, the mickey mouse ones were my favorite of their line up.

Albion cabs usually have the long doors with step inside the door

Leyland and dodge went more for the short doors and step ring on the front wheel

I owned an Albion Cheiftain for over 20 years awesome truck still running and legit now six speed crash box and split diff

Some classics in this video the lyrics about are a crackup too if you have ever driven one

These old Fodens that winstones used were nicknamed Mickey Mouse trucks, because of the way they looked with the split screen and the color scheme.

Nice old housetruck, must of been a bitch moving that engine crane around on the gravel though.

Better put up a pic of a British leyland before we get told off.
