Dont think that excuse would work anymore.
The weakest part of any of the vauxhall victors I had was the steering box, I had a 2ltr one that would go round corners sometimes, if you were lucky.
Ball bearings used to drop out of them some how, I put some round pebbles in that one one night to get me back from Muriwai to the shore.

As for the ventora, was just a better finish, with power steering, more detailed inside, better carpets, seats ect.........

    Power steering

    Vynil roof

A little bit more chrome on the body

Four extra guages across the dash

    Reclining bucket seats

Options of auto or overdrive gearbox

and other stuff like reversing lights and one or two other item, can't find the advertisement for Ventoras at the mo.

3.3 Victors came with twin drains too - in fact exactly the same motor in both cars.

Not mine - and I bought it off the middle-aged original owner

A bugger to replace them too.
