Electronic injection but the early K100 setup used a swinging flap air flow meter so it would be relatively easy to turbo through.

Toyota engine? Look forward to seeing one of those on top of a A series gearbox.

Anyway with the BMW head on the A block the Mini circle is complete, seeing that new Minis are BMWs
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

    That Trumpy Estate is yummy!

To be honest, I don't like the MG6, I think it looks bad and it has no power

I did a Mini turbo 20 odd years ago for a speedway saloon, that used a blow-thru 45DCOE. Sealed bearings for the butterfly spindle and plastic DellOrto floats 'cos the brass Weber ones collapsed under boost pressure and sank. IHI turbo, no intercooler
1440 (Datsun 1200 pistons, S rods on an offset ground crank) 649 cam and 10PSI boost was worth around 130HP at the wheels. Used to eat driveshaft joints until the owner got hardie spicers.

Would have been an absolute hoot in a road car.
Turbo is around the back. It's a ihi as well from a Mazda 1600gt turbo. Carb is off a metro turbo so the floats won't collapse under pressure. Head is ported / chambers shaped for turbo. Block bored to 1330cc, crank and rods are 1300 gt with the usual balancing and four bolt mains cap Pistons are forged 7.9 CR turbo pistions. Using a 1:1 rising rate fuel reg with bosch 916 fuel pump. . Gearbox is striaght cut with quaife ABT diff transmitted via hardy spicer CV's.

Looking to run 10 - 12 psi so should to 130-150hp at the crank but more importantly the small turbo will come on boost from around 2000 rpm and produce + 120 lbs of torque early on. The mini will wieght around 600 kg wet so should have enough power to have fun for entry motorsport.

I may replace the Carb at some stage and go with efi throttle body setup on the end of a webber inlet mainifold.

I looked into Honda Vtec conversions (cheaper to build with more power but not aseries) BMW k100RS head conversions (Block and pistions require custom machining so losts of $$$) Honda CBR600 head conversion (lack of info on conversion) and also at Toyota Starlet enging conversions. Decided to stay aseries in the end

Some food for thought. (pimp my Triumph )

Period V8 conversion with either a Rover alloy 3.5 - 4.4 v8 or Leyland P76 alloy 4.4 Litre conversion. Should be similar weight to iron block six. You can run all the same gauges except for rev counter which you can change to a stag version or modify orginal for V8 firing. (google smiths rev counter circuit diagrams)

    Some links links

http://www.britishv8.org/Triumph/MikePuke.htm NZ conversion to get the idea

http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/boat...-440772417.htm , Convert this back for road use but retain marine cam profile for hairyv8 idle and nice top end.

    http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-...-439973494.htm another engine options

http://www.triumphroverspares.com.au...1&productid=95 Much needed front brake upgrade.

Change the diff to a hilux or surf.

I'd be careful with a 3.9, the cracked blocks are a worry.
The P76 lump smashed in to that 200 Estate would be a very cool car.

    Does the Estate have IRS?

Get her a new kitchen? Mine cried that I spend too much time on working on the ZZR, so I thought the best way to fix that is be rid of her.
