Hey, kids! Captain Hero here with Getting Laid Tip 213 - The Backrub Buddy!
Find a chick who’s just been dumped and comfort her by massaging her shoulders, and soon, she’ll be massaging your prostate.
Do own anything (car wise) at the moment

as a runabout:
Those Mk2 Jags are unbelievably sexy.
I've toyed with the idea of a picking up an early "fixer upper" Jag, but in the end it's usually cheaper to buy one that's been well done up by someone else.
I must be getting old - my tastes now run to the really big saloons. What I really want is a "traditional-shaped" XJ8 LWB in white or silver. An awesome tourer, with use as a wedding car on the side (would compliment my daughter's photography business).
I've been looking seriously at X308 LWB models - was quite keen on this one:

But the well documented faults in those earlier Jag V8s, particularly the cylinder liners, scares me off.
So now drooling over the X350 or X358 - the first of the aluminium bodied XJ Jags, but still in the traditional XJ shape. Got to be the LWB model, preferably with the 4.2 V8. Trouble is, I don't have $40K+ to spend on a car.
Cavear tastes, with peanut-butter bank balance. Sigh...
Can I believe the magic of your size... (The Shirelles)
My old man did a kitchen for a pilot who had one of those. He had the model before it with the steel frame and his fuel bill was cut in half he reckons
On that note, if you're after a saloon type car, I reckon a Wolseley 4/44, 6/110, Austin/Morris Cambridge etc
Not quite the same but lovely comfy 'big' cars, but not OTTand a lot cheaper then a Jag!

My uncle had a MKII when I was a kid. Lovely classic and now timeless.
The XJs from around 1988 are unusual in that they really are keepers. The build quality was pretty damn good (for a Jag). The LWBs are generally a little expensive as they actually have rear leg room. I had a 3.2 Sport, which was one of the most relaxing cars I have had the use of. It was a company vehicle and whilst almost all of my colleagues burnt their budgets on BMWs and Mercedes, I knew what I wanted. Unlike BMWs, you aim them rather than steer (in comparison), but still an excellent car with comfort and style not available from BMW. I could see that the other guys were really envious, as my Jag wasn't a Same old Same old BM/Merc, but I always said 'NO" to offers of weekend swaps (cars not wives).
Theres a 1963 and a 1964 MKII at Grays Auctions, but their start prices are higher than I want to pay.
We'll see what shows up at the appropriate time.
Big saloon cars?
Those Jags are seriously nice, but, I'm sorry I'd be buying an E38 BMW 750iL for that coin, 5.4 V12.....epic win.
I think the Armstrong SillyBilly was a neat looking car and they are reasonably priced now.
A year or two ago I did some worked on a Vanden Plas, I cannot remember what it was based on though. Had that tasty 3.0 6cyl in it and looked like a 16/60, but, I'm sure it was bigger.
IIRC 3.0 VandenPlas was a (very) upmarket Austin.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
those cheap ass bitches can do anything with ductape.
