I agree on the noise, those Trumpy 6's can sound very nice.

I am biased though, I like the Rover, it's very light (Similar weight to a few cast iron four cyl motors), simple to set up, cheap to modify and easy to fix
yeah yeah thought ya might call my bluff on that one LOL, didnt relise tho the 3.5 put out so much hp tho.
Whats ya thoughts on the 3.5 vs the 4.4?

What.. the 2000/2500? no way, they are a basic engine in comparasion to the Jag... their manuals are 4 speeds with an auto overdrive in 3rd and 4th.

    I'll stick with me 7-litre!

Oh, and those 4-speed overdrives were controlled manually/electrically with a little switch on the top of the shifter knob from memory.

The 4.4 was 200hp and a nice bit of torque, the 3.5 had better flowing heads. A nice upgrade for the 4.4/P76 is 3.5 heads, or SD1 3.5 injected heads. The Range Rover heads flow better again I am told (later model injected ones), but they have small bumps in the intake ports for the injectors, so it's wise to get them filled and smoothed if running a carb set up

The SD1 with carbs was crap the P6 had more grunt, the SD1 was 150hp... Not much in one of those terrible things. My P6 scooted along fairly well for what it was.

lol I did see that one, but it's a bit beyond me at the moment, but what really holds me back is space. I wouldn't say no a bit of a build up etc, but just don't have the space

Hence why I need something still on the road so I can just do general stuff etc
