I wouldn't own a manual Jag, unless it was an E-type. Sorry Indy lol I just think it defeats the purpose of a Jag. To waft everywhere

Ah, the good old Hillman Imp. I had a girlfriend with one. It seemed to struggle getting enough air to the rear to cool the engine. A London double decker bus hit her rear end and she was really upset about it. I said "did you get its number?" she said,
"yes, it was a number 19" Her insurance wouldn't pay up as she couldn't identify the bus that hit her

Back to those Jags, this one's http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=399333668 only local and I might well pop up for a butchers

Oooh, that's new on the market - nice...! It's got the bigger 4.0 V8 too. Lower k's, and the history sounds good.

    Good luck.

If I get out to see it, I'll report back!

Jags were always a complete no no for me, mainly due to the lack of rear seating space. LWB changes that and having had positive Jag experiences in the 90s, I really do believe them to be great value.

As for the Morris Oxford on two wheels, that would have made a great Youtube moment If it was a 1952 model, that would have been the bubble shaped one? The later one looked more like an Austin Cambridge.

I used to drive my Dad's Hillman SuperMinx. Great 1600cc engine, but the dampers, suspension, and brakes were not up too much

Sorry mate, you can't buy new cars with cross plies, vaccuum operated wipers, and Lucas "prince of darkness" electrics anymore, lol. Seriously, what are you looking for? I'm always teasing the mostly Aussie crew I work with by bringing up Tard Me bargains, and they can't believe what we have available for next to nix. They're out there, you just have to widen your horizons.

I thought I'd never ever be interested in a 4WD, let alone a stinkin' diesel but had my preconceptions blown out of the water just before Chrissy. Wandering around Melbourne I chanced upon a test drive in an Audi Q7 6.0L TDi V12. Fuck me, does 500hp and 1000Nm of torque change your mind as to what a block of flats is capable of. Completely out of my price bracket, but absolutely mind altering. First diesel I've ever come across that actually sounded good too. I've just gotta wait 10 years for it to become affordable now, lol.

I'm with you brutha! 5.8 in my case, but why the poms insisted on their girly wee engines has got me stuffed. Carroll Shelby pointed them in the right direction back in '61 but they never picked up the ball and ran with it.

Stags were not generally carefully driven as they were seen as a high performance sports car.

Abuse any motor and it will pay you back with trouble. I guess that fuel was just too cheap in those days >$2/ltr = less thirst and longer lasting motors
