Actually, I don't mind the S-Type, although I probably wouldn't buy one. The extreme case of retro-styling is either loved or hated.

I don't particular like the X-type, which is basically a Ford Mondeo with a different body shell and motor. Big Jag looks, which fail to deliver.

Interesting - cheers. I understood that because the bulk of XJ8s are second-hand imports, to be aware of the potential issue.

I can't stand the S-type, it leaves much to be desired. I've driven every model with the exception (excretion?) of the "normal" V8, the S-type R was nice, shit did it have berries under the bonnet. Wouldn't buy one...an BMW M5 will rip it in half and is a better car in every single way.

I liked the X-type until I drove one....they're pretty....but, not very great. There are far better cars to own. Like an X300....or XJR.

I've seen countless compression tests on Jap imported Nikasil BMW's and so far have not seen anything raising concern (except for one 328i M52Btu28 that blew a headgasket without the owner knowing )

I've never tested anything Euro imported or Singapore though.

It's funny because a BF Falcon is by no means fast or good handling. An E39 BMW 5 series Msport will run rings around one all day and is still of higher quality build, ride quality, brakes....gruniter....

But, a Morrie with tube front chassis and a 3.5 V8 still gives me a massive horn

Regards birthday party... It's a trap.

Women think birthdays are more important even than new shoes. If you are not there you will pay in manblood for decades. (Woman's logic: it's so bloody obvious he should know...)

Look at the Jag next weekend. Buyers for old Jags are not exactly thick on the ground and it'll still be there. Now can I come round and gorp at breasts and drink your beer thank you very much?

So I still get to come to the party right? lol

As for Jags, the only one I'd wanna buy is an XK8. They're freakin' sweet!

I'll keep that in mind, I was given a lecture a few weeks back on how babies will ruin anything to do with motorcycles in ones life

Only if you let them, it doesn't have to be like that.

    I will never understand women!

So we had a great day lots of MIWLFs in the house and I got some great cleavage shots.

I worked my arse off preparing food and drinks. Had a great chat and some beers with the other Dads and all went well.

So after all the clearing up last night, I come out with “You know how I have always had nice cars that I’ve done up and looked after; and since we’ve been in New Zealand, I haven’t had one……..

We’ll there’s this Jag I am really keen on checking out AND………………..”

“Oh babe, you want a Jag. That’s nice. I guess you will be 50 next year. Of course you can get a Jag if that’s what you want………………. But have you considered how you would get it up the drive and into the garage?”

WTF!!!!!!! – She knows nothing about cars except for their colour and how many wheels they have.

Either she's very clever or just knows how to wind me up!

I will be getting an XJ8 – You wait and see.

Next project, moving house to one with a drive that won’t scuff the underside of a Jag

But how could I be sure the drive was OK if I didn't first have a Jag?
