That deserves beer, much jealous of that situation

I'd wrongly always assumed that Borgwards were made by Saab. Silly me

Apart from the Rover 75, there's nowt wrong with your taste in cars
Tatras are really interesting cars, much like an uber LWB V8 911 with boat suspension
Borgward Isabellas make me happy, for some reason.

I quite like some of them new Skodas, they're seriously good value now, small ones aren't far off Corolla money and they're not horrible like 'rollas.

    I like my taste!

The Borgward group was the last fully family owned car maker in Europe, makes included Goliath, Lloyd, Hansa, (renamed Goliath). I think there was another one in there somewhere, but the old mind is slowing down. Must be the heat.

The group went bust because, according to experts at the time, they had too many competing models. eg. Borgward Arabella and Goliath/Hansa.

Spent some time chauffeuring a neighbour around in an Arabella. Loved it! 1100cc flat four fwd. Also had a cousin that owned a Borgward Isabella... the best known model in NZ. It was a beautiful car both to look at and to drive. I think they were about 1600cc. 2 door, but relatively roomy 4 seater.

Skodas regularly beat VW in the owners' reliability surveys held each year.

I'm looking at getting m'self a classic for a business car later this year, instead of giving the big beige to the business (would be okay if I was an accountant)
    My list
    Morrie Minor highlight
    Morrie 1100/1300 (I love these)
Something older? Would love a Morris 8 or an A30/35etc.
    Herald
Vauxhall Victor (yeah, odd in this mix)

Ideas? Sorry Indy, don't want a 'crab
Just has to be a reasonably cheap way in to a classic

    Depends what the business is?

If you're gonna 'make the old sign' etc you might want an MGF?

Decorative metal finishing, custom bike work and other random things I reckon owning a shinig classic would be excellent advertising (can you imagine how spotless a car I've restore is under the bonnet?)

If that's the case I'd go for a ute of some sort, would be a good display item and practical.

    1800 ute?

I was looking at utes just before
An A40 Farina would be sweet, relatively practical
