    Gonna need a second opinion on that one, as I don't trust Wiki. I remember the RS1600 & the Mexico, as MKI road cars, but not the RS2000 until the MKII.

    Found the above link - as I, too, remembered the MkII RS with that sloping snout but only the MkI Mexico. Had forgotten about the MkI RS1600...

    Pretty sure you could order a Mk1 escort from FAV with any spec BDA you liked. They listed the RS1600 and RS1800 from memory as the base homologations.
    The works cars were certainly 2L.
    Later of course you could get BDA's up to 2.4 litre - very popular for hillclimb cars. Probably easier now to get the bits for a big one than a small.

    Aussie had them there was only about 10 (EDIT 25)imported as a homologation for Bathurst.
