Cager Of The Day Award goes to...

The damn fool in the white station wagon with 2 kayaks strapped to the top. Heading north along the Foxton/Sanson road late morning on Boxing day.

    Picture this Folks....

Im heading south in the MummyVan

Almost continuous stream of North heading traffic, massive number of bikes (heading to Whangas for races probably). Idiot in said wagon pulls out to pass thinking that there is a gap in front of the vehicle ahead...only to find that a bike is occupying 'gap'. Now where to? Cant pull in and hit bike, cant drop back into the slot where it was, doesnt have room to overtake the next car before I get there.....

aah...of course...idiot continues to drive on my side of the road. Silly me, why didnt I think of that? Forces me and the three vehicles behind me onto verge.

fools fools and damned fools....God knows what happened but I as I got into Foxton there was an ambulance heading out of town with lights and sirens on...gotta wonder about some people.

I'd be keen to hear your CagerOfTheDay story. Bet there are some that will beat mine for that Elusive Idiot Factor

At least you can take comfort in knowing that said idiot will be eliminated from the gene pool. Eventually.

Be cool out there. Pass everything, but be cool.

Heading back into Wanganui yesterday I saw a shitload of dicks on bikes pulling shit stunts.

At least one legend discovered their was a traffic island smack bang in the middle of the road through Sanson as he was passing everyone.

    Lmfao.

Nice duck and swerve, back into the group of bikes he was passing

    On the National park road

We hit two tailgaters, consistantly driving not more than 3 metres behind us, we let them pass, then they tailed the car and trailer, all doing 100km easy.... and this was on the really bendy bit... with bikes around...

I'd agree that most drivers have been ok...thats what burns my butt about this twit yesterday. It was so unnecessary. just plain rude. Just as well that stretch of road has good visibility and enough room for me to get out of the way. Had my 2 youngest kids in the van and we could easily have been written off. NOt to mention the biker and his pillion.

Idiot for trying to pass in heavy traffic, cos he will only be 20 metres ahead of original place after all, if it means that much to him get a fucking bike fer fucks sake.
BUT, if fuckwits kept to the two/four second rule, passing would be a whole lot safer and achievable (in a car, or gn250)

Actually I had a quiet chuckle yesterday. i was passed at pretty high speed on the back road from mangawhai.
I shrugged and carried on.I saw the car concerned ducking and diving up the road. I kept chugging along at the speed limit.
an hour and a half later at the upper harbour drive offramp I pulled alongside him/her for a moment as they were exiting the motorway.
All that stress --all that effort to achieve--well nothing at all

This is so often the case. People driving pretty terribly just to try and get somewhere a bit faster, but they end up taking pretty much the same amount of time.

Was following mates somewhere in Auckland and a bruce willis look-a like guy in a sedan was following right up the back of my bike every time I accelerated he would come right up the back. I indicate to go in the turning right lane and he toots the horn then I stare at him. He goes

    "Cant you ride your bike"
"Yes, can you drive your car, huh, can you, can you!?! "

Funny enough he looks straight and drives off that was odd. Ahh well

To be honest I do have tons of lovely photos, of her licence plate....and the following car that did the same thing to the guy with trailer, he was pretty patient considering... the last bit to Whanganui is pretty bad... and worse with the heat, the road was not pretty... ask the bikes that went down. (I was in my cage)...

the guy pulled over on double yellow lines was funny, I think he thought we were stupid enough to overtake on yellow lines on a blind. mmmm (photo in my album)
