Bike runs much louder after filling up at BP...

(this one is from Tristank also having trouble with posting new threads. I've notified other Moderators and the Admin folks so hopefully it'll be getting sussed fairly soon)

Okay.. about 2+ weeks ago I pulled all the baffling out of my 'exhaust box', eg straight through can. I did this after 3 days in a row of people nearly hitting me/not noticing me in heavy traffic and other general dangerous cager tactics.

Since then the bike took a little getting used to with the large sound increase but since then I have had NO close calls eg at least once a week like usual .

Anytheway... onto the question: Usually I use shell/mobil etc after my mums car ran crap on BP every time (probably just some tanker coincidence or something) and BP was the last fill before my carbs crapped themselves.

    - Today I used BP - my bike was much much louder (WTF!) than it usually is for a good 30kms or so. Usually I have my 6.5krpm 'shut the f### up zone' (quiet as) but today it was insanely loud at any rpm range... heaps of burbling too, making it rather annoying to commute around the 'pohh-lieece'.

All the fuel tanks/system were cleaned about 1000km ago when I got new carbs.

Mabey some stupid additives BP puts in unleaded 91?

Hopefully you can follow that bad grammar up there

    -Tristan

Those volvo petrol tankers supply more than just BP. When they full up the shell station, they move straight onto the bp station beside it. Maybe this is different in the North Island?

BP's 91 should be exactly the same as shells and anyone elses. - Only have shell, bp , mobil and caltex in South Island. But all their 91's should be exactly the same.

I use anyone's 91, I don't notice any difference. I didn't think that there was one? Maybe a brief problem with his bike?

I filled up my scooter when i had it once at Mobil. I thought their 'healthy friendly enviroment' petrol was absoulte shite. Bike had less power and it ran out quicker. Up yours Mobil!

Well, according to BPs marketing campaign, they have 'cleaner burning' fuel. Maybe it's just BPs superior fuel making the bike run louder

BTW, this is bullshit, don't take it seriously

I understand that all the NZ fuel except challenge which is blended in aus is all the same stuff, just put in different containers.

Oh good, I thought I was the only one

Its a con im telling you, anything with 'clean green' is twice the price and tastes/runs/works half as good.

Dont even get me started on "organic" vegetables!
