Got my name down for this - the weekend after I get back from a fortnight touring the North Island.
Should be trained up enough by then, with enough time for a bike service.
I see that there is now some choice over which route you can do on each day.
Yip...... Better not be raining, I don't do rain.
Anybody know where I can get some nicotine patch ear plugs ?
I'm very tempted to give it a go on a bike which really isn't designed for that sort of riding.
Who of the regulars on this forum are riding the TT 2000 and what Flyers are you looking to do.
I am undertaking the Eastern route on day one and the Western on day 2. Having worked it through I think Bronze Acheiver is a reasonable and acheivable goal for me. On the first day I am looking to do the Inangahua and Belgrove Flyers and on the second day I will only need to do the Springs Junction Flyer.

4 Wheels move the body. 2 Wheels move the soul
over here fellah>>>>> http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh.../118693-Tt2000
Went up to the powerhouse in the Cobb yesterday, another flyer, and the road wasn't flash, a bit of slumping in places and patches of pea gravel left over from last winter, had a couple of moments.
I'll see how I go before deciding on any flyers, be happy just to finish @ this stage
I think you must be crazy to be doing this ride... cant wait-----------going for "gold"
Yep i'm going to give it a crack.
I going to do as much as the body will allow.
Gold would be nice but we will see.
If the weather holds it would be "fun"to try and prove them wrong ( "We believe it is virtually impossible you will be able to do all 14")I have estimated the time required to do all of it and i believe it is possible if you dont stop for meals fuel or photos , maybe they are right?? There is a lot of road works planned for the Marlborough area over the next few weeks, the Oyster Bay road is all marked up for resealing.
The important thing is to finish in one piece with a licence and i suppose to enjoy it.
"going for gold"???
I'm in, ferry booked, accommodation sorted, sun dance started
I'm registered for it. Got the time off work. Accomodation booked. So I guess I may as well do it.
Time to ride
