    Talking 6Chris6 Race Debut

    Yes, another race report.

Got a lift down to Taupo saturday night with Frosty, and that was the scariest part of the whole weekend for me and I thnk Mad Duck will back me up there.
I was just lucky I was in the back and didn't have to watch
We stayed the night at camelia court (great accomadation) and i slept like a baby ie woke up every hour and cried.
Gave up on sleep about 6am on race day so sat outside and read until everyone else was up.
Had a very healthy breakfast with the crew and headed out to the track.

1st practice I went out with clubmans I think and just cruised around as I had new tyres and was nervous as all hell about dropping it in practice wasn't very happy at all.

Went out again with the classics and more of the same, just couldn't get into it.

Then our other KB racing brethren dropped one after the other Frosty dropping a cylinder in practice and Quasi a clutch, so decided to let Frosty take my bike in clubmans and that I would just ride round in pre '89.
Frosty went out for a practice, and came back saying the tyres were fine and to harden up
So I thought f*&k it and went for it 2nd practice, and was starting to get some confidence.
Then loomed the first race, had a couple of nervous pisses and got out there.
Got a terrible start and made it even worse by braking to let everyone go into turn one first as got a bit head fu*&ed but then went for it and started to pick a few of them up and really enjoying myself.
Finished 8th from 16 and was really buzzing came into the pits with a huge grin and all nervousness gone.
Won't go into the other races, more of the same really although definately getting quicker, more aggressive.
Got to say thankyou to everyone thats helped me get there KK who helped me build the bike and keep costs to a minimum. Frosty for his continuing support, giveing me a lift to the race and most importantly getting my head straight to race.
Anf of course all the other KB'ers who turned up and gave me encouragement

Oh yeah this is proof you can race for a grand, as thats all the bike has cost although not including tyres, how did those flash bikes go Frosty, Quasi?

    Wicked!

Well done and keep it up, the initial progress is fun and fast so just keep at it you will see. And yep! The bike sure was built to a budget, and i think it was a good call because not many will have had the same bang-for-your-buck fun as chris did.

Heres the good news mate. Quietly follwing ya round on the KR I couldnt see ya doing much wrong. The fear of passing bit is normal for a road rider.
Mind you that DEMON move ya pulled on me in the right hander has me thinkin it wont be long till ya chasing us all down.
Thanks again for letting me warm ya tyres up in clubmans.

Quasie what are you doing in front of a screen at 8.00am, after the intense fitness regime I have you on, and your homework to watch the last three years of Moto GP before your next outing, we have much to do before next years endurance race!!!!

    Welcome to the club mate!

I am sorry to say that its only going to get worse form here.
Soon you will get faster, then you will want a faster bike, then you will get the call up from Repsol Honda GP team. (ive already turned them down a couple times) etc..

    Congratulations Chris.

    Mighty fine result.

Soon KB racers will outnumber everyone else combined.
