    Conti Attack 2

Have been given the opportunity of trialing these tyres on my GSXR (yeah, gotta pay for them), but the bike shop are keen to see what I think of them.

Nice sticky compound, brand new to the market, bit dearer than my usual ones, but am very tempted.

Should I do it? I think I'm gonna get less mileage outta it though.

Of course ya should do it at their cost price fitted hehe
Be interested to know what they are equivalent to ie road attack sport attack race attack ??
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Definitely. If you're trialling them make them do it at cost + 5% or somesuch.

And are they road or sport 2? Is there both a new road and sport or just the one?

They have a harder compound in the centre, and sticky at the sides, but the whole tyre seems sticky to touch. Maybe more like a race tyre, like pilot powers - will need to try them to be able to say what they are like.

Not sure, they know I need new tyres, and suggested that I might like to trial them. The rep already said they would give a better deal to them if they are to be trialed specially..... There cost price is equivalent to the Michellen deal they give me...... so will see what the rep would do.

There are lots of different attacks - but this is a new one to their line. Called attack 2.

So not road or sport attack 2. Just attack 2?

I've had a set of road attacks before and really rated them. Great tyres.

no, they are called Conti Attack 2. Nothing else. Aren't even in their catelog of tyres - thats how new they are. Think I'll do it and get some anyway......

I got 7,500km out of the pilot road 2, which was quite amazing, and I really had good confidence in them. But I love my Pirrelli Diablo's, so would be keen to try these too

Have you thought about trying out the new Angels?

Are the attack 2 sport-touring or full-on sports? Just asking as you were saying how sticky it feels all over. I figure with a hard compound center it would be sports touring.?

I have absolutely no idea. The rep only dropped it off yesterday and I had it at home last night to view.

    This might help!

The Conti RoadAttack2 from Europe's leading tyre manufacturer Continental is a new development for sports bikes and sports touring bikes. Continental's development engineers in Korbach in the German federal state of Hesse have adapted the tyre tread and compound to accommodate the latest findings in tyre technology, which means that this tyre achieves more grip on wet roads and more on dry asphalt than its popular predecessor. Handling and mileage performance has also been increased.

The new tyre offers a further safety benefit on sports bikes and sports touring bikes, thanks to its 'Continuous Compound Technology' - the combination of a soft compound on the sidewall with harder rubber across the middle of the tread increases safety during cornering, without having to sacrifice high mileage performance. The use of 'Black Chili Compound' containing silica and carbon black, as used in the racing world, means faster heat build-up, something that is important for grip, especially on wet roads. The tyre structure was also redesigned to achieve greater riding dynamics and grip.

Shops should have the info on there Sprint3 service!

Excellent info you found. I do like the feel of the tyre and it has a different tread pattern to it too

Problem is, I need a 190 and they only had a 180 the rep had brought in.... so no new tyre before the weekend and guess I won't make it to Paeroa either

Wow! Only 7500 ks? Mstrs gets about 17000 ks (I think) out of the same tyre on his GSXR.
Maybe try a smoother style of riding to get more mileage....

Well, good for him. I used a bridgestone before this one and only got 4,500 out of that - and don't think I've ever had more than 7,500 out of a tyre, even when I've had all my other bikes. So each to their own.
