    Putting things in perspective

    Well.

Sad little old me decided yesterday that life was waaaay to hard and couldn't be bothered going to work. So i did what every self-repsecting wagger does and took a MHD (mental health day). naturally, i jumped on KB and trolled through some old threads.... and proceeded to spend the next two hours bawling my eyes out as i read Paddy's thread relating to the tragic accident involving Alex and Anika's 'diary' of getting through. OMG! Suddenly i felt very humble and pretty disgusted at myself...... reading her story and seeing the utter, utter compassion and support she was shown on this site definitley made me think how good I had it - at least i was breathing.

So i toddled off to work this morning, trying to feel pretty good and remembering yesterdays lesson. Sure enough, got to work and all the shit had hit the fan while I was away. Yesterdays lesson soon forgotten and by 11am feeling pretty shitty again. Oh woe is me!

At 11.30 I watched the police boat bring in the body of the young 15 year old, Olivia Rutherford. I stood at the window, tears streaming, watching 4 guys lifting this poor child into a hearse..

Talk about putting things in perspective.

RIP Olivia. My sympathies to the family, if any of them happen to be KB'ers.

That is normal, but if you cried every time something horrible happened and hated yourself every time you caught yourself feeling sorry for yourself, you'd go insane. Shit happens

thanks guys. maybe this came out a bit wrong. wasn't meant to sound trite or self absorbed... actually the opposite. makes me appreciate that when things seem to get on top of me, my problems are pretty trivial compared to what poor Anika and Olivias families are going through. Any one got hammer and nails? i can build a big ass bridge and get over myself... next time i decide to take a mental health day, will think twice!
