Almost done then brake failure

Hay guys im just doing the final tinkering on my bike before I put the fairings on and Ive hit a problem, before painting the calipers I pushed the pistons in allowing them not to get overspray on them and to make it easy to place the calipers on the rotors (keep in mind the breaks worked perfictly before I striped the bike mid last year) now that the bike is assembled I cant bleed ither calipers the pump stays flat.

At this moment I dont want to accept the fact that the pump seals may have failed so has anyone come across a similar problem that had a possable simple fix that im overlooking, could I have made the problem by pushing the pistons in?

Also is it possable to syphin fluid through the system?

Assemble the brake system, then fill the master cyl and loosen the brake line onto the caliper until it starts to leak everywhere, then tighten, and then loosen the bleed screw until it floods out, and retighten. You shouldn't need to pump - it should just flow down by gravity.

Then bleed as normal, allowing the brake cylinders to come out as you pump.

Cheers DB I didnt think to bleed the lines first that makes sence, i can hear air when I pump the brakes but only the right side caliper would seep fluid when the valve was loosend.

I use an oil can and pump the fluid INTO the bleed nipples till it flows out into the master cylinder after I've had 'em right apart. Air likes to go up, so it works better that way. Then give her a quick bleed like normal and away ya go.

Cool well the bike is living at a mates shop off Kahikatea Dr untill its done, picking up the uni pods, brake pads and chain runner today those are the final parts needed If I have any probs I will definitly give you a bell.

Cheers guys for your help I do like the idea of bleeding it by priming the calipers.

Choice the brakes are sorted, priming the calipers from the pleed valves untill the pistons were forced out agenst the pad worked a treat.
The new uni pods will be dry by the time I get to the shop at eight so they will go stright on followed by the fairings.

Such a good feeling having it almost done apart from the fact the swingarm will have to come off to fit the replacement chain slider lol
