TWOA has grown pretty exponentially in the last few years, and you expect teething problems with any organisation that goes from under 10,000 students to 65000 students in 5 years. The main reason were $20 million short is because at the start of this whole saga, Mallard chose to withhold a $20 million treaty payment they were supposed to give TWOA. But that doesnt make good headlines does it :-)

I've seen a bit of nepotism here, but its not the big scale larceny stuff they keep going on about in the papers, its just things like a few staff being fucking incompetent but not being fired because they are whanau of someone high up the food chain.

TWOA published a rebuttal of all the allegations awhile ago, a copy of which can be found online HERE

For the most part its not a bad place to work, and as a white middle class national/act supporter, I really do think its just a bunch of BS politicing for the most part. I also think Mallard is acting the way he is because if him and Comrade Clarke are seen to "stomp on the cheeky darkies" it may attract some of the more centrist votes that would otherwise go to the more right leaning parties
