Race report 8.5.05 Pacific mcc Taupo --or not

well this really isn't much of a race report
Mella yella sounded a bit poorly starting up in the morning but thinking it'd sucked a heap of shite gas i went out for first practice. I did a couple of laps and it felt totally gutless then the engine got very loud and viabrated like mad.I had the painfull view of quazi dissapearing into the distance.
Once I cad calmed down and put all my toys back in my cot I resighned myself to a day sitting in the pits.
6chris 6 felt sorry for me and offered a ride in clubmans on his bike. A 1986 tzr250 --a fair bit down on power and cornering clearance on the zxr but heaps of fun.
Not wanting to bend his baby at his first race meeting I was happy with just getting some track time.
Then I pulled up on the dummy grid--Hmm i wonder whose gonna be a distant last i thought. -Gsxr600,sv650,400stroker honda,rf400suzi,vstorm honda,a couple of other big bikes and lil ol me on the TZR
Flag drop i got dusted by everybody but in turn one they all tippy toed around so I figured--ill have that gap thank you.and at the hairpin--yep ill have that gap too -hehehehehe
    hey this is fun.
All turned pear shaped once we got back onto the back straight and they all just blasted past me bugger bugger.
6 of 8 bikes got past on the straight and then it was back to turn one and i took 2 of em back again then another one on the hairpin. It ended up being a great 3 way duel with me,Flame on her gsxr600 and a guy on a SV650 it went on from beginning to end of the race and I had great fun riding at 7/10ths I ended up finishing 4th
The next two races I ended up in 5th place still not bad against bigger faster bikes.-I just diddnt have the legs to catch them on the straights and I was terrified of bending Chris's bike by getting too agressive round the corners.
I was still doing 50 second laps so I sopose it wasn't too bad .
I did something really cheeky after my 3 races and went out on the last race of the day on Sparky's "spare" 1983 KR250 in Pre 89 class
I thought I'd watch 6Chris6 from the best seat in the house -On the track.
The lil ol 16" wheels , worn out shocks, and 15 year old tyres were a wake up call but I was laughing my head off just having a ball and I was still giving a few people a bit of a hurry up includind sneaking under Chris on the hairpin.
He got me back with a sweeet as move over the top of me on the first right.
    Fucken fantastic move mate
4 laps in and I realsed I carried a shit load more corner speed in the sweeper than most people so I was getting ready to pass chris and a guy on a fzr400 on the exit Well I gassed it hard coming out and the motor stopped dead, seized solid halfway through --not the best place to have a seizure -I hauled the clutch in and wobbled to the side of the track-- Id left black streaks on the tarmack--and in my undies for that matter.
A real pleasure was seeing the 3 new KB racers out there --6chris6 --giving a fair few a real hurry up in pre89 on his TZR250 .Quazi suffering a similar fate to me (ill let him tell his story) and Flame getting to grips with a tricky circuit on her gsxr600
--Never in My life before have i wanted so desperately to blaggg a ride--that is one sweeet bike Flame.

I must say once I put my toys back in the cot (from mella yellas blowup) I had a fun day It was great to race with no pressure to preform
And So good to see the new racers doin it
Thanks go to MLchrisis for pitching in to help
Sparky ditto -um er and ya bike dude
6chris6 thanks for the loaner mate
AJturbo -che bro for putting my toys back in the cot
Ohh and quazi -next time dude -theres always next time

??? They looked new to me.....OK then.

And the bike siezed? Shit! Hope the damage isn't too bad for you Chris.
    You called Fluffy Cat yet?
Otherwise, it was a real shame not to see you at your best Tony, you looked totally gutted when Mella retired.
But the question is: Does this mean another rebuild, or doeas the SV get some use?
And another: Where was Doug on Sunday?
What ya gonna use for the 21st?

    Sparky's engine

Well you wanted an update It looks like the bigend bearing let go and all the bits ended up jamming the piston so the conrod had a cry and gave up
    Exit one KR250.
Ohwell there is another one in the garage waiting for next time.

Well you know what they say, if ya gonna do it, do it properly
No worries mate, it was bound to happen to mine as it was rather noisey down there anyway.
    Suck about yours though.
