Ignition coil options

Hay guys the question of the day is "what types of ignition coil will work for my nsr"
I dont think its worth my time looking for an identical coil from a doner nsr, the markings on the old coil ar JEC Japan MP03.
Obviously I dont want to use any coil and run the risk of frying the cdi or an expensive component of the electrics.

Does anyone kno of a coil that will suit, if I end up getting a differnt coil to the origional I will swap both to suit.

Check the "Wiring Loom" section of the parts manual, coil with lead hanging off it plain as day. As other post, check on the forum there to see if the later model ones work.

Magnito produces the power for the coil, definitly has coils one for each cylinder and ive tested both so its most definitly a faulty coil, cheers tho for the query.

Ok I kno its a bit of a mad idea but..... I have excess amounts of coil packs from my old 300zx, if I was to measure the resistance on both types of ignition coil and make a comparison, if the measurements are very close would there be any harm in adapting them on? I wouldnt mind experamenting as long as there is minimal risk of damage.

Opinions?

Sweet me and my mate did a bit of research and succeeded in getting the nissan coil packs to work on the nsr, delivers a much better spark and doesnt run the risk of damage to anything else.

To finish it off all I need to do is make up a mounting bracket for the coil packs and get some plug leads as I had the coils directly connected to the plug like there designed to do in the nissan, hope leads arnt expensive lol.

In my opinion the bike runs better than it ever has in the time Ive owned it, after sitting for a week it started first kick
