Bowls can wait !
No not wharfy down again?. Can anyone give me info on what happen?.
He did an extra lap. Then he missed the track exit AGAIN. "Where's his head at?", thought I. Then he seemed to realised he'd missed the exit, took a really tight line at the right hander, pulled a huge stoppie and then tried steering with the bike's arse in the air and it all went Pete Tong. I was really worried about him at the time as with the sacks full of plastic bottles flying everywhere it looked like a massive crash.
Hopefully he'll be back giving us hell in F2 before then end of the winter series.

Was he the fella that struck the forklift?
Well I cocked that up badly !
I failed to see the chequered flag to end the session (twice) !!
I am pretty deaf but think my eyesight is OK I can only assume it was because I was concentrating so hard on the kink in the front straight that I missed the flags.
As for the actual crash , I saw a couple of bikes slowing for the exit and slowed a bit myself, thought they must be exiting early (as I hadn't seen any flags) so gave it a bit of a squirt and next thing FARK the corner is right here and basically panicked.
If I wasn't so far off the pace I might have twigged EVERYONE had stopped.
Big thanks to all the people that made offers of help and especially to Jarrod Wintle who loaded the van.
Appologies to the Lovely Katie O'Donnell and my daughter Elizabeth who had a bit of a moment as just about the time they found out I was taken away in the Ambulance the helicopter arrived to pick up a spectator who had suffered a heart attack !!!
So broken index finger on the right hand, cracked sternum (that fucking hurts) and a nice purple bruise on the inside of my right leg.
No racing for 10 weeks, so no Cliffhanger for me this year, bummed about that
Great job done by the Ambulance folk and the staff at the treatment station at the track and the Thames Hospital.
Normal shit broken on the bike levers pegs fiberglass....
Apart from repairs to the bike I will invest in a chest protector and some riding lessons
I'll have another crack at it next year (pun intended) .
Oh and it seems if you make a big enough prick of yourself you can get your very own thread on KiwiBiker . I've arrived !!!
"You never understood that it ain't no good, you shouldn't let other people get your kicks for you" - Bob Dylan
What bad luck Wharfy ! The cracked Sternum sounds painful and looks like an investment in a chest protector is good idea. (I promise to wear my one all the time from now on :}) Quasi sells some quite comfortable Knox protectors and saved my ribs last Oct.
Heal up quick mate and look after yourself. Hope to catch you out there again soon !
