    ‘Jetpatcher’ solution to pothole menace

Now I know you guys have problems with road surfaces out there as well, so thought you would find the following of interest (the freeze referred to is in the UK, but the machine would work anywhere that uses asphalt for the road):

A £140,000 machine could be the answer to the pothole crisis created by this Winter’s snow and freeze.

The ‘Jetpatcher’ is able to quickly repair damaged roads. One operator can fill a hole in about 5 minutes, by blowing debris out of the hole, then blows a layer of asphalt into the road to seal it. Next, it fills the hole with a mixture of aggregate and asphalt before adding more aggregate to the top of the hole to prevent the repair sticking to tyres before it dries.

A number of local authorities in Scotland, including Argyll and Bute and Aberdeen have already hired or bought the machines. In the UK, York and Liverpool have also made use of them, as Hampshire County Council.

It is estimated that 1.6 million new potholes were created by the icy spell. The Local Government Association estimates the repair bill at £100m

1 machine like that blows the whole budget for the whole country im afraid.....it would spend 90 % of its time on the ferry going up and down between one pothole and the other....
Opinions are like arseholes: Everybody has got one, but that doesn't mean you got to air it in public all the time....
