Its the Kiwi way. Nothing will happen to us. Was thinking about going down to napier to catch up with the old man, I might be in for a long swim to Bluff hill.

The Hyatt half marathon has been cancelled at the very last minute this morning because the course went along mission bay waterfront.

My thoughts go out to the people in Chile, thats a badass quake.

If the rail line between Welly & Petone ever got wiped out thru disaster, getting to work in Welly city would be interesting.
No trains, Motorway Gridlock + getting ticketed by WCC for parking bikes outside your workplace.

Maybe cancelling events after the fact was not such a good idea, plus the fact that if NZ gets hit square on then the effect is neutralised and diluted over a huge area. It's the guys getting hit head on who should be concerned.

If it was going to happen the South Island would have been hit this morning at 7.05 am.

Might break out the surf skif !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

Pex's wifes' KAPITI triathon has been delayed. Its a womens only one so I wouldn't expect them to understand the difference between East coast and West coast!

On the tv one news break at 8.00am this morning the expert being interviewed said that they were expecting a swell to hit Auckland of less than 1 meter ! I'm not sure if that warrants an evacuation but I suppose its better to be safe than sorry in these situations.
